East Windsor Township Announces Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3 and Summer Entertainment Series

Mayor Janice S. Mironov and the East Windsor Township Council invite residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day on Friday, July 3, at Etra Lake Park. The annual community celebration will feature live entertainment, food vendors, and a spectacular fireworks display. The rain date is Saturday July 11.
The free Independence Day festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. with Jerry Rife’s Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a six-piece ensemble from the Delaware Valley area renowned for its traditional jazz sound. At 7:45 p.m., the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a six-piece Central Jersey ensemble, will perform a patriotic program featuring Americana favorites and popular melodies. The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Mayor Mironov stated, “Our Nation’s Independence Day is a wonderful opportunity for residents to come together to celebrate and recognize the blessings of liberty and freedom that we enjoy.” She encouraged everyone to “bring blankets and lawn chairs, enjoy the barbecue grills, and spend an evening of free family fun at Etra Lake Park.” Food and refreshment vendors will be available throughout the evening. This free community event is made possible through the generous support of many local businesses.
Mayor Mironov also announced the Township’s annual summer series of free family events at Etra Lake Park:
- Friday, June 26, 6:00 p.m. – Movie Night in the Park
The summer season kicks off with a large-screen presentation of Disney’s newly released animated adventure film, “Hoppers.” The story follows Mabel, who uses groundbreaking technology that allows human consciousness to be transferred into robotic animals, leading her on an extraordinary journey into the mysteries of the animal world. The movie will be preceded by music, dancing, and face painting. - Sunday, July 19, 6:00 p.m. – Rock Bottom
Known as a “Jersey Shore party machine,” Rock Bottom performs an energetic mix of favorites spanning generations and genres, from Billy Joel and Motown classics to contemporary hits by artists such as Paramore and Dua Lipa. - Saturday, July 25, 6:00 p.m. – The Verdict
Specializing in Caribbean-inspired Soca and Reggae music, The Verdict brings tropical rhythms and high-energy entertainment designed to keep audiences on their feet. - Sunday, August 2, 6:00 p.m. – El Ka Bong
El Ka Bong delivers an entertaining mix of chart-topping hits and timeless classics across multiple genres, all infused with a modern rock spirit. - Sunday, August 9, 6:00 p.m. – Kickin’ Wing
Kickin’ Wing performs a lively blend of pop, rock, and soulful favorites from the 1970s and 1980s.
For information regarding weather-related changes for any Township summer event, residents may call the East Windsor Information Hotline at (609) 443-4000, ext. 400, after 1:00 p.m. on the day of the event. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors to the East Windsor Regional School District Melvin H. Kreps School Auditorium.
