SPECIAL NOTICE: East Windsor Township Recycling Changes begin on June 1

East Windsor Township has approved a Shared Services Agreement with Mercer County for Township Recycling Collection Services Starting June 1, 2026. Under the new arrangement, recycling services will be provided on a Township-wide basis in the Garbage District, every other Friday, replacing the current system in which collections occur on alternating Wednesdays for different sections of the community.

The first recycling collection under the new schedule will take place on Friday, June 5 and then Friday, June 19 and continuing bi-weekly on Fridays. The contractor will remain Interstate Waste Services now through the Mercer County Improvement Authority (MCIA) contract. Continue to place recyclables curbside the evening prior to collection but no later than 7 A.M. on the service date. MCIA contact information is 609-278-8086 and residents can contact them for missed collection issues. MCIA will accept the green and the yellow 32 gallon buckets, but has requested that use of the blue buckets be discontinued. Blue replacement buckets are available to Township residents provided by the County, and can be picked up at the Township Public Works facility (309 Ward Street). There will be no change in the items which can be recycled as a result of this contract change. For more information, residents can contact public works at (609) 443-4000 ext 424
