Application for a Permit to Carry a Handgun

Instructions for initial and renewal applications for a Permit to Carry a Handgun can be found under the “Permit to Carry” section of the New Jersey State Police Website, located here: 

Completed application packets must be delivered, in-person, to Detective Timothy Purpuri at East Windsor Police Headquarters, 80 One Mile Road, East Windsor, NJ 08520.

Firearms application may now be completed online via the New Jersey State Police FARS System.  Please click on the link below for detailed instructions.

Fingerprinting

Fingerprinting is available by appointment only. Please contact the Identification Bureau via:

(The East Windsor Township Police Department reserves the right to cancel appointments at any time due to unexpected emergency assignments.)

Fingerprinting is performed for for employment, securities, Federal/State licenses, etc. The individual must provide the following items:

  • Fingerprint Cards
  • Two (2) forms of identification
  • Payment of $10.00 (cash or check)

Fingerprinting  IS NOT done for immigration purposes. All immigration fingerprinting must be performed by USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) at one of the following locations:
