For Release:  May 20, 2026

Mayor Janice S. Mironov and the East Windsor Health Advisory Board invite residents to participate in the Community Walk and Talk on Saturday, June 6, at 9 a.m. at Etra Lake Park, located at 9 Disbrow Hill Road. (Rain date: Saturday, June 13.)

The walk will take place along the Etra Lake Park pathway, which is approximately one mile in length and may be walked multiple times at the discretion of participants. The Mayor’s Wellness Walk serves as the kick-off activity following East Windsor Township joining the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, an initiative sponsored by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute. The Wellness Walk tagline is: “Take a walk. Meet your neighbors. Feel better together.”

According to East Windsor Health Advisory Board Chairman Jay Mermelstein and Vice-Chairwoman Antoinette Holder, “Walk and Talk is a community wellness initiative designed to encourage physical activity, promote overall health, and strengthen connections among residents. Through a relaxed Saturday morning walk, participants are invited to enjoy a simple, accessible form of exercise while engaging in conversation, meeting neighbors, and supporting a shared commitment to community well-being. The goal of Walk and Talk is to make health and wellness approachable for residents of all ages and abilities by encouraging regular movement, social interaction, and active participation in the East Windsor community.”

Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members recently joined Health Advisory Board Chairman Jay Mermelstein and Vice-Chairwoman Antoinette Holder in signing the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign Annual Pledge of Participation, an initiative sponsored by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute.

The pledge states: “Mayors who make a commitment to the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign (MWC) inspire their residents to live their healthiest lives. They lead campaigns to create innovative wellness initiatives for residents of all ages. Mayors throughout New Jersey can be powerful champions of community health and wellness.”

The pledge further states: “As Mayor, I pledge to work collaboratively with the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute and ask the residents of my community to join me in our Mayor’s Wellness Campaign. Together, we will work to build healthier lives and a stronger community. As Mayor, I will create and sustain innovative activities and programs that empower citizens to improve wellness in our community.”
