10-Day Notice of Public Hearing – Park Development Project for East Windsor Union Transportation Trail Extension

PURPOSE: East Windsor Township is seeking funding through the New Jersey Green Acres Program to construct the East Windsor Union Transportation Trail (UTT) Extension—a new 3.2-mile, multi-modal trail that will connect to the existing Monmouth County segment of the UTT and extend this regional trail into East Windsor Township, Mercer County. The proposed extension will expand opportunities for outdoor recreation by providing safe, accessible passage for pedestrians and bicyclists.

 PROJECT SCOPE: East Windsor Township proposes to construct a 3.2-mile off-street extension of the Union Transportation Trail. The project will add 3.2 miles of new trail, expanding the regional trail network within the Township. A concept plan illustrating the proposed improvements, along with a preliminary cost estimate and environmental impact assessment, will be available at www.east-windsor.nj.us.

PUBLIC HEARING INFORMATION: The public is welcome to attend an in-person public hearing to learn more about the proposal and to ask questions or provide comments on the proposed plan on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 6:00 PM, following the regularly scheduled Council meeting.
