Aurobindo Cuts Ribbon On New 170,000 Square Foot Facility On Windsor Center Drive Campus In East Windsor Township

FOR RELEASE: September 17, 2025

Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, along with Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, joined Aurobindo Chief Executive Officer Swami Iyer and other Aurobindo executives and representatives, for a ribbon cutting for the new 170,000 square foot building on the Aurobindo campus -- a state-of-the art pharmaceutical research, manufacturing and distribution facility on Windsor Center Drive.

The new Aurobindo facility, constructed over a 10 month period, will predominantly house over the counter and injectable products, complementing the company’s existing distribution center, which specializes in solid oral dosage forms.  Additional walkways, a patio and seating areas were incorporated, plus enhanced landscaping and berming with deciduous, ornamental and evergreen trees, to integrate the new facility into the existing campus.

The new 170,000 square foot building will join the existing 606,620 square foot Aurobindo building constructed in 2016 and the previously acquired 43,000 square foot Patscenter building on the Company’s campus along Princeton Hightstown Road.   In January 2017, Aurobindo transformed the East Windsor campus into the Company’s North American headquarters and moved its administrative offices to the adjoining existing Patscenter building.  Of note, the Patscenter, characterized by its unique engineering, was designed by renowned British architect Sir Richard Rogers,  who is best known for the Pompidou Cultural Center in Paris.  Together, the opening of these facilities represent company milestones, underscoring the rapid growth and investment of Aurobindo in the Township.

Mayor Mironov stated, “This ribbon cutting is an exciting day for Aurobindo and East Windsor with the continued expansion and success of this leading pharmaceutical company here in our community.  We are proud to be the North American headquarters for Aurobindo, a globally prominent pharmaceutical corporation, known for cutting edge technology for research, development and manufacturing leading to the Company’s growth and success.  East Windsor looks forward to the continuing progress by Aurobindo within our Township’s high-tech, pharmaceutical research and development Einstein Alley Route 571 corridor.”   This corridor also includes significant businesses as Empower Pharma, Shiseido America, Getinge, RK Pharma, ForDoz Pharma and QTS Data Centers.

Aurobindo Chief Executive Officer Swami Iyer stated, “We are proud to deepen our roots in East Windsor and grateful for the continued support from Mayor Mironov and Township officials.  Expanding in East Windsor in the Einstein's Alley is more than a milestone -- it's a commitment to innovation, jobs and community partnership. This new facility on our Township campus represents another exciting chapter in our shared growth.”

Aurobindo Pharma Limited, founded in 1988, is one of the world’s leading development and manufacturing pharmaceutical companies with 27 state-of-the art facilities and more than 24,000 employees worldwide with the facility in East Windsor serving as the North American headquarters.  The company develops, manufactures and distributes a wide range of generic, branded and specialty pharmaceuticals in addition to active pharmaceutical ingredients.
