Mayor Janice S. Mironov, joined by Council Members Marc Lippman, Perry Shapiro, Peter Yeager and John Zoller and LG Electronics USA, Inc. executives Paul Heffernan, Vice-President of Supply Chain, LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc. and John Taylor, Senior Vice President, Public Affairs & Communications,  announced that LG Electronics USA, the North American subsidiary of global innovator LG, has opened a new distribution center for home appliances in the recently completed 410,300 square foot Gateway Twin Rivers building at 159 Milford Road, in East Windsor Township.

LG Electronics, a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, mobile communications and home appliances, will be the sole user of the newly constructed state-of-the-art 410,300 square foot Class A distribution center and warehouse, located directly across from Conair Corp. and just off the recently relocated and expanded New Jersey Turnpike East Windsor Interchange 8.  The new facility,  which began construction in October 2016 on 28 acres, has an attractive modern façade, well landscaped grounds, and is equipped with the latest in industrial features.  The facility is expected to create 50 new jobs in East Windsor.

Mayor Janice S. Mironov said, “East Windsor is excited to welcome global giant LG Electronics, and the size and scope of this modern Class A facility marks a significant investment and exhibits strong confidence in the attractiveness and economic vitality of East Windsor for business.  This project will generate substantial local tax dollars and new jobs for our area, as well as new patrons for our many stores and restaurants.”

Mayor Mironov added, “LG Electronics decision to locate in East Windsor means, once again, East Windsor attracts a world class company due to its strategic central location, excellent access to transportation, highly skilled workforce and a business friendly hands-on local government environment that responds to the needs of the business community.  East Windsor has demonstrated tremendous value to commercial users looking for an unbeatable strategic location two minutes off of the NJ Turnpike and major transportation networks as Routes 133, 33 and 130, as well as mid-way between major New York and  Philadelphia transport options and markets.”

“East Windsor is an attractive place to do business,” said Paul Heffernan, Vice President of Supply Chain, LG Electronics USA.  “Mayor Mironov and Township officials are very cooperative and responsive to the needs of the business community.  In East Windsor, we have a great facility in a great location, centrally located between New York and Philly.  There is a terrific workforce here and excellent transportation access, too.  LG is looking forward to being a good neighbor and good corporate citizen in the home of our new facility, East Windsor Township.”

From this new center, LG will deliver its award-winning refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, washers and dryers to dealers.  LG said the new facility will allow LG to be more responsive to its East Coast customers and support the growth of LG home appliances in the region.
