Dance Universe Opens in East Windsor Township

Mayor Janice S. Mironov, along with Deputy Mayor Peter Yeager, Council Member Denise Daniels and Council Member Perry Shapiro, joined owner/studio director Kelly Gorner and her family, for a ribbon cutting for Dance Universe, a new 1515 square foot dance studio, located in a rear building next to Papa John’s Pizza in the Carduner Center at the intersection of Route 130 and Route 571.

The facility includes two large dance studios and a parent and family lounge area with seating for spectators.  Owner and studio director Kelly Gorner along with her daughter Kaitlyn Blair offer instruction in jazz, tap, ballet, and hip-hop dance as well as zumba and pilates classes.  Dance Universe also provides “Mommy and Me,” “Twinkle Baby Star” and “Mini-Stars” classes for children ages 18 months to 5 years.  Dance Universe features a competition dance company which competes in jazz group and production dance as well as other dance forms.

Mayor Mironov stated, “We congratulate Dance Universe owner Kelly Gorner on the opening of her local dance business.  Students not only have fun while learning dance, but dance as an art also teaches discipline, builds self-confidence, and is great exercise.  Dance Universe staff recently partnered with the Township in what was a successful and highly popular one-day Dance Camp for residents over the summer.  Dance Universe offers a good local opportunity for dance instruction, and we wish them much success in their new venture.”

Dance Universe offers a variety of classes Tuesday through Saturday.  For more information, visit www.danceuniverse.net .
