  1. Reminder: East Windsor Independence Day Celebration Will Be Held on Saturday, July 1 (rain date Monday, July 3) at Etra Lake Park. Free entertainment begins at 6 P.M. with the Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound, followed at 7:45 P.M. by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies. The spectacular Fireworks Display will commence immediately following the musical presentations, at approximately 9:30 P.M. Bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park. There also will be vendors present selling refreshments.   2. Reminder: All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Tuesday, July 4 due to the Independence Day holiday. Residents of Area #2, who would normally have garbage collection on Tuesday, July 4, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Friday, July 7.   3. East Windsor Township Is Holding Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Wednesday, July 12 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household, and until the shredding truck is full. Electronic recycling is limited to televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, VCR's, cable boxes and telephones. Residents will also be able to dispose of fluorescent bulbs and household batteries. East Windsor also is participating in the Trex’s Plastic Film Recycling Challenge. The types of plastic film which can be dropped off for recycling are: grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, plastic shipping envelopes, Ziploc and other reclosable food storage bags, cereal bags, case overwrap, salt bags, pallet wrap and stretch film, wood pellet bags and produce bags. For every 500 pounds collected over six months, Trex donates a bench to the community. RISE will have trucks on-site to collect clothing, shoes, blankets, housewares (plates, mugs and related items), working appliances, household electronics and usable furniture.   4. Congressman Andy Kim Holds Town Hall Meeting in East Windsor on June 26. Congressman Kim spoke about his continued commitment to combat gun violence and make our communities safer, including through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act which he helped pass into law last year. He also discussed his work to expand access to mental healthcare, support care workers, his push to provide all service members with the health care benefits they deserve, and his continued efforts to deliver the local investments secured through the recent infrastructure legislation and the bipartisan infrastructure law. He also responded to questions and comments about current events in Ukraine and the United States role on the global stage.

  5. East Windsor Holds "Winslow" Eagles Tribute Concert on Sunday, July 16 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. Winslow Band celebrates the iconic American band the Eagles. Their multi-lead vocalists capture the 5-part harmonies, precise instrumentation, and stage showmanship as they perform the Eagles greatest hits including Hotel California, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Lyin' Eyes and more. These free events are made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.   6. East Windsor Kicks-Off "We Check for 21" Campaign Joined by Township License Holders, an Initiative of Mayor Mironov and Council Members to Deter Underage Drinking. The Mayoral Proclamation notes, "the We Check for 21 Program is an excellent vehicle to bring together municipal government leaders, young people, parents, key community and school leaders, policy makers and local businesses toward a common positive community effort" and "calls on all businesses and citizens to become more aware of and more involved in efforts to reduce underage drinking in our community." As part of the Township campaign, liquor license holders are required to sign the "We Check for 21" pledge, affirming strong support of the program, as a condition of receiving their liquor license renewal. The Township recognizes and thanks the license holders who personally attended the kick-off event for their support.

  7. East Windsor Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Initiative, Funded by $7,500 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, Continues on Monday, July 10, from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Police/Municipal Court Building, and runs through September. The Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. Additional inspection sessions will take place as follows: at Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) Friday, September 22 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and at the Township National Night Out event at the East Windsor PAL Complex (30 Airport Road) on Tuesday, August 1 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.
  8. Groups and Businesses Invited to Participate in "National Night Out" Set for Tuesday, August 1, from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the East Windsor PAL Complex, 30 Airport Road. This annual fun educational Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members in conjunction with Chief of Police Jason Hart, features crime watch information, emergency services equipment, music, booths and displays by area groups and businesses with information and giveaways supporting the National Night Out theme.   9. Limited Spots Available for East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp. Recreation day camps are offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 6. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2023 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9.
