  1. REMINDER: All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, May 30 due to the Memorial Day holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, May 30, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, June 2.   2. REMINDER: Hightstown-East Windsor Memorial Day Parade Is Monday, May 30, and will kick-off at 9 A.M. on North Main Street and proceed through the center of Hightstown. The annual community event will feature many local groups including veterans associations, rescue squads and fire companies, school musical groups, scout organizations, religious organizations, and other area participants.
  3. Elementary School Student Winners of the Township Earth Day Recycling Poster Contest Were Recognized by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members. The poster contest theme was to promote the 4 R's of the Township Recycling Program: "Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, Rebuy." Winners received Mayoral Certificates of Recognition and gift certificates to Barnes and Noble, donated by corporate sponsor Shiseido America. The Perry L. Drew students were awarded the Earth Day Proclamation for the most participating students in the poster contest. All of the posters are on display through the month of June in the East Windsor Municipal Building. Congratulations to all the participating students and to all of the winners!

  4. East Windsor Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Initiative, Funded by $6,480 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, Continues on Thursday, June 9, from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Police/Municipal Court Building, and runs through September. The Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. Additional inspection sessions will take place as follows: at Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) on Monday, July 18 and Friday, September 16 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and at the Township National Night Out event at the East Windsor P.A.L. Complex (30 Airport Road) on Tuesday, August 2 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.
  5. Odin Burk of Boy Scout Troop 5700 Completes Installation of Two New Benches at Anker Park. The benches were constructed and installed at Anker Park as an Eagle Scout Community Project. East Windsor Township officials enthusiastically welcome boy scout and girl scout projects providing improvements and amenities to Township parks and public properties.

  6. Mercer County Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, June 4, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School (350 Lawrence Station Road, Lawrence). No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellants, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, televisions, stereos, and microwaves will be accepted.   7. "Click It or Ticket" Seat Belt Campaign Funded by $7,000 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety (NJDHTS), began on May 23 and will continue through June 5. The NJDHTS 2022 "Click It or Ticket" seat belt campaign is a statewide campaign aimed at increasing compliance with State law that requires the use of seat belts. These funds are used to pay the salaries of Township police officers who will be assigned patrol activities directed toward the identification and ticketing of motorists who fail to use seat belts as required by State law.
  8. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open for Township Residents. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 6. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2022 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9. Camp Care for before and after care of campers is also available for an additional fee. Online registration and payment is available at (CLICK HERE).
