  1. REMINDER: East Windsor Mayor and Council Hold Final Bicycle Helmet Giveaway Program "Use Your Head," Session on Wednesday, May 25 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M., at the Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard), whereby residents ages 5 through 16 can receive a bicycle helmet, at no cost. After viewing a brief five-minute video on the importance of bicycle helmets and bicycle safety, participants will be measured and given a properly fitted bicycle helmet, along with safety literature. The Township then will implement Phase 2 of this bicycle safety initiative from June 1 through July 31, during which Mayor Mironov and Council Members and Township police officers will distribute form “summonses” to young people, recognizing children wearing helmets and asking them to sign a pledge “to use a safety helmet when using a bicycle, skateboard or rollerblades". This phase will enable them to be entered in a drawing for prizes, which will take place on Tuesday August 2 at the Township “National Night Out”.
  2. REMINDER: East Windsor Township Offers Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination and First and Second Booster Dose Clinic on Thursday, May 26 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (79 One Mile Road Ext). Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available, as well as Pfizer and Moderna Booster doses for those who are eligible. Vaccinations will be available for children ages 5 through 11. Appointments Are Required.   3. East Windsor Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Initiative, Funded by $6,480 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, Continues on Thursday, June 9, from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Police/Municipal Court Building, and runs through September. The Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. Additional inspection session will take place as follows: at Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) on Monday, July 18 and Friday, September 16 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and at the Township National Night Out event at the East Windsor PAL Complex (30 Airport Road) on Tuesday, August 2 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.
  4. Hightstown-East Windsor Memorial Day Parade Is Monday, May 30, and will kick-off at 9 A.M. on North Main Street and proceed through the center of Hightstown. The annual community event will feature many local groups including veterans associations, rescue squads and fire companies, school musical groups, scout organizations, religious organizations, and other area participants.
  5. "Click It or Ticket" Seat Belt Campaign Funded by $7,000 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety (NJDHTS), will run from May 23 to June 5. The NJDHTS 2022 "Click It or Ticket" seat belt campaign is a statewide campaign aimed at increasing compliance with State law that requires the use of seat belts. These funds will be used to pay the salaries of Township police officers who will be assigned patrol activities directed toward the identification and ticketing of motorists who fail to use seat belts as required by State law.
  6. Mercer County Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, June 4, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellants, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, televisions, stereos, and microwaves will be accepted.   7. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open for Township Residents. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 6. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2022 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9. Camp Care for before and after care of campers is also available for an additional fee. Online registration and payment is available at (CLICK HERE).   8. CALENDAR: East Windsor Township Free Summer Events at Etra Lake Park:
    • Saturday, July 2 (rain date July 9) East Windsor Independence Day Celebration: 6 pm, Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound. 7:45 pm, Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies. Approximately 9:30 pm, Fireworks.
    • Saturday, July 16 at 7 pm Family-Night-In-The-Park: Large screen showing of the movie "Encanto" preceded by inflatable rides and games.
    • Sunday, July 24 at 6 pm Wooden Ships Band: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young Tribute.
    • Sunday, August 7 at 6 pm Gypsy: Fleetwood Mac Tribute.
    • Sunday, August 21 at 6 pm B-Street Band: Bruce Springsteen Tribute.
    These free events are made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.
  9. All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, May 30 due to the Memorial Day holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, May 30, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, June 2.
