Happy JULY 4 Independence Day!

  1. East Windsor Independence Day Celebration Will Be Held on Saturday, July 5 (rain date Saturday, July 12) at Etra Lake Park. Free entertainment begins at 6 P.M. with Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound, followed at 7:45 P.M. by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies. The spectacular Fireworks Display will commence immediately following the musical presentations, at approximately 9:30 P.M. Bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park. There will also be vendors present selling refreshments. This free event is made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.

  2. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members Hold Recycling Day Event on Wednesday, July 16, from 4:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files will be available until the truck is full, to East Windsor Residents Only. No commercial documents, there is a limit of ten boxes per household. Plastic film recycling is available as part of the "Trex Recycling Challenge".Trex sponsors an annual challenge program rewarding groups who collect more than 500 pounds of plastics within six months with a free bench. Plastic materials accepted include bread bags, grocery bags, air pillows, ziploc, bubble wrap, produce bags, dry cleaning bags, shipping envelopes and newspaper sleeves. Electronic recycling is available for computers, computer monitors, laptops, VCR's and televisions. Also accepted for drop-off are fluorescent bulbs, cell phones and printer cartridges. No other electrical items will be accepted. RISE will be on site to collect usable furniture, clothing, blankets and working household appliances and electronics.   3. East Windsor Holds "Earth Wind & Fire" Tribute Band Concert on Sunday, July 13 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute Band is a group with roots in gospel music committed to recreating the style and music of the premier band of the 70's, 80'sand 90's. In the case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to Melvin H. Kreps School auditorium (5 Kent Lane, East Windsor).
  4. East Windsor Officials Will Be Hosting "National Night Out" on Tuesday, August 5, from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the East Windsor P.A.L. Complex (30 Airport Road). This annual fun educational Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members in conjunction with Chief of Police Jason Hart, features displays of emergency services equipment, canine drug detection demonstrations, booths and displays by area groups and businesses with information and giveaways supporting the National Night Out theme, DJ provided music and refreshments. Youth games and activities will feature jumping/climbing inflatables, climbing obstacle course, face painting and air brush tattoos.   5. REMINDER: All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Friday, July 4 due to the Independence Day holiday. Residents of Area #2, who would normally have garbage collection on Friday, July 4, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Tuesday, July 8.
