  1. REMINDER: Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members Hold Recycling Day Event on Saturday, April 13, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files will be available from 10 A.M.to 2 P.M. or until the truck is full, to East Windsor Residents Only. There is a limit of ten boxes per household; no commercial documents. Electronic recycling includes televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, VCR's, cable boxes and radios. Residents also will be able to drop off fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, cell phones and printer cartridges. RISE will be on site to collect usable furniture, clothing, blankets and working household appliances and electronics. For further information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 215.
  2. Stream Cleanup Co-Sponsored by The Watershed Institute and East Windsor Township on Saturday, April 20, from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Etra Lake Park, Rain or Shine. Pre-registration is recommended (CLICK HERE). Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and long sleeves, and bring work gloves. Trash bags will be provided. Adults must accompany minors.   3. Oath of Office Administered by Mayor Mironov to New Police Officers Zachary Fritz and Vincent Ceres. Police Officer Zachary Fritz graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy in June 2023 and previously served as a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer for the Point Pleasant Police Department. Police Officer Vincent Ceres graduated from the Monmouth County Police Academy in March 2023 and previously served as a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer with the Deal Police Department. Police Officers Fritz and Ceres are assigned to the Uniform Services Division.

  4. East Windsor Has Been Awarded $225,000 Federal Grant Funding for Purchase of a New Bus for Senior Center Transportation Services. This funding, enabled through the support of Senator Cory Booker, will enable the Township to enhance handicap accessible and reliable bus services offered to senior residents. Services will include transportation to and from the Senior Center, medical appointments, grocery shopping and group trips. The Township will navigate the timelines and processes of the federal agencies to access and use the funds.
  5. Mayor Janice S. Mironov Issued Proclamation for National Volunteer Week and Recognized East Windsor Senior Center Volunteers. The Mayoral Proclamation, noting that, "volunteerism is one of the basic traits in the American character . . . was established in 1974 to recognize and honor the generous people who volunteer their time and services to an organization or cause to help better our communities," recognizes that, "the Senior Center Volunteers help in the development, coordination and integration of the various programs and services available to senior citizens." The Proclamation continues, "the East Windsor Township Senior Center Volunteers realize the important part of giving back to their senior community by volunteering to assist in classes, games, arts and crafts, reading, exercise programs, special events and many other activities, in addition to the Mercer County Nutrition Project, which serves lunch to more than 70 seniors daily," and "expresses appreciation to our volunteers for their excellent and dedicated efforts to the East Windsor community." Thank you to our wonderful Senior Center Volunteers!

  6. East Windsor Township Soliciting Nominations for Annual "Sylvia Weiss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer." The Award is to recognize a senior citizen who has exhibited outstanding service through volunteerism to the community by way of the schools, religious institutions, service organizations or directly to the public. This service can be in leadership or in direct service. Nominees must be at least 60 years of age and residents of East Windsor. The award is named after Sylvia Weiss, a former East Windsor Township Council Member, past Council senior citizen advisor and chairperson of the Commission on Aging, who was instrumental in the original formation of the senior citizen program. Local individuals and organizations are encouraged to nominate a senior citizen for this honor. The deadline to submit a nomination is Monday, April 22.   7. East Windsor Will Participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday, April 27 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs. The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications. This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal. The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.

  9. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 9. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2024 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9. PUBLIC NOTICE: East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority (EWMUA) Is Conducting Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing to remove sediment from pipes, monitor water flows and pressures, and provide visual inspection of the hydrants between the hours of 9 A.M. and 4 P.M. Monday through Friday on the following dates:
    • April 15 through April 19: Twin Rivers and Centex areas.
    • April 22 through April 26: Windsor Regency, Georgetown, Cranbury Manor, Stonegate and sections of Route 130.
    • April 29 through May 3: Hickory Acres, Brooktree area, Renaissance Estates, Princeton East, Oak Creek Estates, Riviera, neighborhoods along Dutch Neck Road, One Mile Road and sections of Route 130.
      This schedule is subject to change due to conflicting work that must be done by EWMUA personnel. According to the EWMUA, customers may notice a drop in water pressure or may experience discolored water. At no time will the water quality be compromised, and the water is safe to use.
