1. REMINDER: No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 and All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Garbage Collection for Area #1 residents, normally, on Thursday, November 24, will be on the next scheduled collection day of Monday, November 27. Garbage Collection for Area #2 residents, normally on Friday, November 24, will be on the next scheduled collection date of Tuesday, November 28. 2. Bank of America is Beginning Construction at the Former Weichert Realty Building, located at the intersection of Route 130 North and Stockton Street. The new Bank of America will transform the existing building and add a 1,000 square foot two-story addition to the southerly side of the building and a fully renovated interior. While the facility will offer an ATM machine, there will be no drive-thru. Other associated site improvements will be made to sidewalks, striping, landscaping, and lighting, as well as a fully reconstructed parking lot.
3. East Windsor Township Encourages Residents to Support and Participate in Womanspace "Communities of Light" Scheduled for Monday, December 4. Citizens and businesses can participate and support Womanspace by purchasing candles, bringing the luminary kits and gathering with local elected officials and police on Monday, December 4 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building. Luminary kits, containing six candles each, can be purchased for $10 at any time at the East Windsor Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road). All proceeds will go 100% directly to Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and is dedicated to improving the quality of life of abuse victims and their families. 4. East Windsor Township Mayor and Council Encourage Citizens to Volunteer for Township Boards and Committees. Citizens can apply to serve on the Clean Communities Advisory Committee, Commission on Aging, East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, Economic Development Committee, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Board, Planning Board, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse. Residents interested in volunteering can obtain an application form from the municipal clerk or can fill out this form (CLICK HERE) and return by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303, or by mail to Mayor Janice S. 5. High School Students Invited to Serve as Student Members of East Windsor Township Boards and Commissions. The boards and commissions included in the program are Commission on Aging, Clean Communities Committee, Economic Development Commission, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Committee and Recreation Commission, as well as the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse. High school students who wish to be considered should submit a letter indicating their area of interest and reasons or related background, by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303 or by mail to Mayor Janice S. 6. Passes Begin Monday, November 27. Leaf Collection for Area #1 AND Area #2 residents will begin on Monday, November 27 and end on Friday, December 15. The final passes will cover both areas through December 15 or until the first significant snowfall. In prior years, additional passes were made through both areas due to a very successful program and very cooperative weather conditions. Public Works will strive to continue making extra passes in 2023. Leaves may not be put out after Wednesday, December 13 to allow crews to finish the final pass by December 15.
