  1. East Windsor Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Initiative, Funded by $7,500 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, Will Kick Off on Wednesday, May 10, from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road) and run through September. The Child Passenger Car Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and will receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. Additional inspection sessions will take place as follows: at Police/Court Building on Thursday, June 8, Monday, July 10 and Friday, September 22 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and at the Township National Night Out event at the East Windsor PAL Complex (30 Airport Road) on Tuesday, August 1 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.
  2. Township Environmental Commission Promotes Arbor Day with Free Distribution of Tree Seedlings on Saturday, May 6 (rain date Saturday, May 13), beginning at 10 A.M. and continuing to 12 noon or until supplies run out at the East Windsor Police Athletic League complex (30 Airport Road). AcerE-NEW Rubrum Red Maples, a deciduous tree noted for attractive red foliage which thrives in a wide range of soils, will be available on a first-come first-serve basis.   3. Arbor Day Foundation Names East Windsor Tree City USA Community for 2022 for the Township's Commitment to Community Forestry. East Windsor Township, for the 23rd year, has earned this national designation meeting the four standards set by the Arbor Day Foundation: having a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, a comprehensive forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance. The program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.
  4. East Windsor Promotes Township Memorial Tree Program During Arbor Day, which is celebrated on the last Friday of April. The Memorial Tree Program offers residents a unique opportunity to provide a living memorial to a deceased relative or friend or in remembrance or commemoration of a special person, group or event, by the planting of a tree in the Township Memorial Tree Grove located on the grounds of the East Windsor municipal building. The tree, including tree planting and accompanying granite marker with the name of the deceased person or event to be remembered, can be ordered through the Public Works Department.   5. Mayor Janice S. Mironov Recognizes East Windsor Senior Center Volunteers, Presenting Certificates of Appreciation for Their Valuable Contributions to the Operations of the Center. The Senior Center volunteers assist with overseeing center office needs, coordinating and operating senior programs and events, and participating in various community programs organized by the Senior Center. Thank you to our wonderful Senior Center Volunteers!

  6. East Windsor and The Watershed Institute Co-Sponsor Annual Stream Clean-up at Etra Lake Park on Earth Day, Saturday April 22. Over 67 volunteers participated and over 365 pounds of trash and recycling were collected. The Watershed Institute works with residents, municipal, county and state leaders and local groups on a wide variety of initiatives and actions to plan smart, grow community and preserve and protect our natural resources. Thank you to all of the great volunteers and to The Watershed Institute!

  7. East Windsor Township Holds Kick-Off for 2023 Community Garden, located in Disbrow Hill Park, adjacent to the Disbrow Hill Playing Fields and across from Etra Lake Park, was attended by Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Council Members Denise Daniels, Peter Yeager, John Zoller, and Health Advisory Board members and community garden participants. Launched in 2016, the community garden, located in Disbrow Hill Park, adjacent to the Disbrow Hill Playing Fields and across from Etra Lake Park, is comprised of twenty plots. The community garden is part of the Township's ongoing sustainable community efforts and provides residents with the opportunity to rent a plot of land to plant their own fruits and vegetables, herbs and flowers of their choosing while also providing a positive outdoor activity for families, friends or individuals. The community garden gives residents the opportunity to learn and share knowledge on gardening, nature and cooking, and provides a strengthened sense of community and social opportunities where community members of varying backgrounds can come together.

  8. East Windsor Encourages Community Groups to Participate in 2023 Township Adopt-A-Spot Program. Under this program, participating groups "adopt" a public property and keep it clean during the year. A placard is erected on the site indicating that it has been "adopted by" with the name of the group. The groups are expected to perform clean-up three times per month from April 1 through November 30. Adopt-A-Spot is a great program in not only ensuring public areas of our community are well-maintained, but also has been a wonderful educational tool for teaching young people social responsibility and community pride.   9. East Windsor Township Offers COVID-19 Vaccination and Boosters Including Bivalent Booster Clinics on Saturday, May 6 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at St Paul Lutheran Church (79 One Mile Road Ext) and Thursday, May 11 from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. at Melvin H. Kreps Middle School (5 Kent Lane). Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as bivalent booster doses for those who are eligible. Vaccinations and Pfizer boosters will be available for children ages 5 and older. Appointments Are Required.   10. East Windsor Township Offers COVID-19 Vaccination and Boosters Including Bivalent Booster Clinic on Thursday, May 4 and Thursday, June 8 from 2 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as bivalent booster doses for those who are eligible. Appointments Are Required.   11. East Windsor "Operation Medicine Cabinet" on Saturday, April 22 Collected Additional 17.8 Pounds, Resulting in a Total of 273.2 Pounds, of unused and expired prescription medications, which were turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. "Operation Medicine Cabinet" provides a secure and legal means to dispose of these prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reduces possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs.
  12. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open for Township Residents. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 6. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2023 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9. Camp Care for before and after care of campers is also available for an additional fee. Online registration and payment is available at (CLICK HERE).   13. PUBLIC NOTICE: East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority (EWMUA) Is Conducting Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing to remove sediment from pipes, monitor water flows and pressures, and provide visual inspection of the hydrants between the hours of 9 A.M. and 4 P.M. Monday through Friday on the following dates:
    • April 24 through April 28: Windsor Regency, Georgetown, Cranbury Manor, Stonegate and sections of Route 130.
    • May 1 through May 5: Hickory Acres, Brooktree area, Renaissance Estates, Princeton East, Oak Creek Estates, Riviera, neighborhoods along Dutch Neck Road, One Mile Road and sections of Route 130.
      This schedule is subject to change due to conflicting work that must be done by EWMUA personnel. According to the EWMUA, customers may notice a drop in water pressure or may experience discolored water. At no time will the water quality be compromised, and the water is safe to use.
