  1. ALERT: A Cooperative Roadway Project between East Windsor Township and Mercer County Will Make Improvements to Conover Road from Woods Road to Old York Road (County Road 539) Commencing on Monday, October 17, weather permitting The project is to mill and pave the roadway surface. Work hours will be Monday to Friday, 9 A.M. to 3:00 P.M and is projected to take up to 5 business days to complete. CHOOSE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE, except for local traffic, as Conover Road will be CLOSED from Woods Road to Old York Road during working hours. An alternative detour route from Old York Road is to turn onto Airport Road, turn left onto Mercer Street to Route 130, and conversely take Route 33 to Airport Road to Old York Road.
  2. Improvements to Hawthorne Lane, Holly Drive, Iris Drive, Fern Drive and Brooklawn Drive between Woodland Drive and Ivy Lane West Continue this Week, with concrete work to curbs and driveway aprons. Thereafter, storm drains will be upgraded and handicapped ramps will be repaired, and finally the roadways will be milled and paved. The project, awarded to low bidder Meco Inc. of Millstone Township, New Jersey, is supported by a New Jersey Department of Transportation $600,000 grant. Work is expected to be completed in late November.
  3. REMINDER: Last Day to Register to Vote in the November 8 General Election Is Tuesday, October 18. Registration forms can be obtained online at www.njelections.org. or at the municipal clerk's office in town hall.
  4. East Windsor Township Offers COVID-19 Vaccination and Boosters Including Bivalent Booster Clinic on Thursday, October 20 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at Melvin H. Kreps Middle School (5 Kent Lane). Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as bivalent booster doses for those who are eligible. Vaccinations and Pfizer boosters will be available for children ages 5 and older.   5. GOOD NEWS: The Expanded East Windsor Senior Center Will Be Re-Opening on Monday, October 31 – for daily operations and programs and a Halloween Bash Party Celebration!
  6. East Windsor Is Inviting Residents to Apply for Home Improvement Funds Pursuant to the Township Small Cities Housing Rehabilitation Program Application. Residents who are income eligible can receive up to $20,000 under this program for needed home improvement work such as roofs, foundations, heating, plumbing and electrical systems, and lead based paint hazard remediation.   7. East Windsor Recreation Hosts Halloween “Trick-or-Treat” Event on Saturday, October 22, from 2:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. The free community event, for children 12 and under, will include Halloween themed arts and crafts, one man Halloween illusion and comedy show, and Trick-or-Treat trail. Interested participants MUST be accompanied by an adult and will need to register through Community Pass (CLICK HERE). In the event of inclement weather, call the East Windsor Information Hotline at (609) 443-4000, ext. 400 after 12 P.M. on the day of the event for updates.
  8. East Windsor Offers Free Flu Clinic on Thursday, October 27 from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. The Flu Clinics will be drive-thru and face coverings are recommended. The flu vaccinations are by appointment only, by calling the Township Health Department at (609) 443-4000, ext. 222.
  9. East Windsor Will Participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday, October 29 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., a program offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs. The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications. This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal. The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.


  10. East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority (EWMUA) Is Conducting Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing to remove sediment from pipes, monitor water flows and pressures, and provide visual inspection of the hydrants during the hours between 9 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. on the following dates: This schedule is subject to change due to conflicting work that must be done by EWMUA personnel. According to the EWMUA, customers may notice a drop in water pressure or may experience discolored water. At no time will the water quality be compromised, and the water is safe to use.     • October 17 through October 21: Twin Rivers and Centex areas.
    • October 24 through October 28: Windsor Regency, Georgetown, Cranbury Manor, Stonegate and sections of Route 130.
    • October 31 through November 4: Hickory Acres, Brooktree area, Renaissance Estates, Princeton East, Oak Creek Estates, Riviera, neighborhoods along Dutch Neck Road, One Mile Road and sections of Route 130.
