  1. REMINDER: Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, October 10 Due to the Columbus Day Holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, October 10, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, October 13.   2. A Cooperative Roadway Project between East Windsor Township and Mercer County Will Undertake Improvements to Conover Road from Woods Road to Old York Road (County Road 539) Commencing during the Week of October 10, Weather Permitting. The project is to mill and pave the roadway surface. There will be some minor delays and inconveniences during this work. Work hours will be Monday to Friday, 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
  3. Lieutenant Jason Hart Was Sworn In as New East Windsor Chief of Police by Mayor Janice S. Mironov. Chief of Police Hart joined the Township police department in January 2004, after graduating from the Ocean County Police Academy and serving as a Special Police Officer in Seaside Park Borough. During his career with the Township, Chief Hart has been a Defensive Tactics Instructor, Field Training Officer, Secondary Officer in Charge, Evidence Technician, Firearms Instructor, and Detective in Investigative Services. He was promoted to Sergeant in July 2015, serving as a Platoon Supervisor, Traffic Safety Unit Supervisor and Investigative Services Supervisor. He was promoted to Lieutenant in January 2020 serving as Investigative Services Commander, Uniform Services Commander and Internal Affairs Commander. Chief Hart has been awarded the Life Saving Medal, the Samaritan Officer of the Year Award, two Unit Citation Medals, Educational Achievement Medal, several Awards of Merit and numerous Letters of Recognition from his superior officers and members of the community. Chief Hart received a bachelor's degree from Albright College and master's degree from The College of New Jersey, and is a 2019 graduate of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Academy.

  4. Mayor Janice S. Mironov to Present State of the Township Address at Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber Economic Development Breakfast on Wednesday, October 12, at the East Windsor Holiday Inn (399 Monmouth Street). Mayor Mironov's annual State of the Township Address will include a report on accomplishments, current goals and projects and preview of what is on the horizon for the East Windsor business community. Breakfast will begin at 8:00 A.M. with the program beginning promptly at 8:30 A.M. All business and interested members of the community are invited to attend. The cost of the event is $40 for members and future members, and tickets are currently on sale through the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber website (CLICK HERE).   5. East Windsor Offers Free Flu Clinics on Thursday, October 13, and Thursday, October 27 from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. The Flu Clinics will be drive-thru and face coverings are recommended. The flu vaccinations are by appointment only, by calling the Township Health Department at (609) 443-4000, ext. 222.
  6. Roadway Improvements to Hawthorne Lane, Holly Drive, Iris Drive, Fern Drive and Brooklawn Drive between Woodland Drive and Ivy Lane West Delayed Due to Rain Are Scheduled to Begin this Week, weather permitting, with concrete work to curbs and driveway aprons. Thereafter, storm drains will be upgraded and handicapped ramps will be repaired, and finally the roadways will be milled and paved. The project, awarded to low bidder Meco Inc. of Millstone Township, New Jersey, is supported by a New Jersey Department of Transportation $600,000 grant. Work is expected to be completed in late November.
  7. East Windsor Recreation Hosts Halloween “Trick-or-Treat” Event on Saturday, October 22, from 2:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. The free community event, for children 12 and under, will include Halloween themed arts and crafts, one man Halloween illusion and comedy show, and Trick-or-Treat trail. Interested participants MUST be accompanied by an adult and will need to register through Community Pass (CLICK HERE). In the event of inclement weather, call the East Windsor Information Hotline at (609) 443-4000, ext. 400 after 12 P.M. on the day of the event for updates.
  8. Mercer County Holds Paper Shredding Day on Saturday, October 8 from 9 AM to 12 PM, rain or shine, at Lot 4, South Broad Street, Trenton (across from county administration building at 641 South Broad Street). Residents may bring up to eight boxes or bags of paper; no household chemicals and no commercial businesses are permitted. Proof of residency such as a driver's license is required.   9. Last Day to Register to Vote in the November 8 General Election Is Tuesday, October 18. Registration forms can be obtained online at www.njelections.org. or at the municipal clerk's office in town hall.
  10. Vote By Mail Applications for the November 8, 2022 Election Are Available on-line at the New Jersey Division of Elections website (CLICK HERE) or from the Municipal Clerk’s office. Applications must be mailed or delivered in person and cannot be submitted by facsimile or email. Mailed applications must be received at least seven days prior to the election. Voters also can apply in person at the County Clerk's office in Trenton until 3 P.M. on November 7. Questions can be directed to the municipal clerk's office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 238.
  11. NOTICE: New Property Tax Relief Program Applications Have Been Mailed out by State and Filing Deadline is Friday, December 30, 2022. The Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program replaces the Homestead Benefit program and expands the amount of property tax relief and number of eligible homeowners and tenants. Applications can be filed either online or by phone. The online application for homeowners can be found here, the online application for tenants can be found here, and the automated telephone filing system phone number is (877) 658-2972, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Eligible homeowners must have owned and occupied their home as their principal residence on October 1, 2019 and have a 2019 gross income not more than $250,000. Eligible tenants must have rented and occupied an apartment or residence that was their principal residence on October 1, 2019, lived in a unit with its own separate kitchen and bath facilities, and have a 2019 gross income of not more than $150,000. The 2019 property taxes must be paid.
