  1. NO TAX INCREASE Again in the 2022 East Windsor Municipal Budget of $24,148.566 Adopted by Mayor Janice Mironov and Council Members on June 7. The East Windsor municipal tax rate component has not increased for ten consecutive years -- 2013 through 2022, remaining at the rate of $.433 per $100 of assessed valuation. Thus for the current 2022 average residential assessment of $259,455, the 2022 municipal tax is $1,123. The East Windsor municipal component remains at less than 15% of the total local property tax bill, and is among the lowest amounts in the entire region and well below the statewide average. The 2022 municipal tax levy also is well below the available state cap levy amounts which the Township is legally allowed to spend. The fiscally conservative and responsible budget document will continue to deliver a high quality level of services to residents and respond to the needs of the community. The NO TAX INCREASE municipal budget is a result of the Township's commitment to continually seek out additional efficiencies, cooperative purchasing avenues and service sharing opportunities, a significant increase in new businesses and ratables, a low debt level and recent refinancing initiative, effective outreaches for grant and revenue opportunities, and pro-active efforts to carefully plan and to closely monitor expenditures and revenues throughout the year.

  10. TIPS FROM EAST WINDSOR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION on Tick Season. Township residents should be alerted that tick season in New Jersey has started. A moist spring following a warm, wet winter has resulted in the population increase of various types of tick species. Ticks, which start emerging in May, June and July, are a potential hazard to humans and pets. Residents are encouraged to take the following precautions around their home and yard to prevent the spread of ticks:
    • Trim back vegetation along paths, trails, and yards; remove larger weeds and clean up leaf debris.
    • Keep bird feeders at the edge of the yard and clean up debris to discourage rodents which are a major tick carrier source.
    • Stack firewood neatly in a dry area away from yard activity locations.
    • Control deer around your property, by using plants less desirable to deer and apply deer repellents and/or a deer fence.
