  1. Child Passenger Car Seat Safety Inspection Initiative, Funded by $6,000 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, continues through September. The FREE Child Passenger Car Seat safety inspections for Township residents, hosted by Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Members of Council and the police department, are to promote child passenger safety. Participants will have their child car seats inspected to ensure proper installation and will receive educational materials regarding current state child restraint laws. Sessions will be held at the Police/Court building, at 80 One Mile Road on Wednesday, June 23, Monday, July 12, Tuesday, August 3, and Thursday, September 23 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M.

  3. East Windsor Township Is Holding Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event on Wednesday, July 14 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). NO OTHER DROP-OFFS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS EVENT. This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household. Electronics Recycling is limited to only televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, fax machines, cell phones, VCR's, cable boxes and telephones. All drop-offs shall be "Contact-less" and residents must remain in their vehicles at all times. Trained staff wearing masks and gloves will remove items from the trunk and rear seat of the vehicle.   4. East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open. Recreational day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 8. The 2021 camp format will be modified to adhere to Federal and New Jersey health and safety guidelines. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1 and will have 2 classes of 14 campers each per week. The Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2 through 8. Grades 2 and 3 will consist of 3 separate classes of 14 campers each per week, and grades 4, 5 and 6 will consist of 2 separate classes of 14 campers each per week. Traditional Travel camp will not operate in 2021, but campers entering grades 7 and 8 will have the option of attending Adventure Camp which will consist of 1 separate class of 14 campers each per week. Camp care for before and after care of campers will be available this year from 7 A.M. to 9 A.M. and 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. for an additional fee. Online registration and payment is available (CLICK HERE).   5. Mercer County Library System Has Expanded Hours of Operation. As of June 5, the East Windsor branches, the Hickory Corner Branch at 138 Hickory Corner Road and the Twin Rivers Branch at 276 Abbington Drive, will be open to the public on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 A.M. to 8 P.M., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M., and for curbside pick-up on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
