  1. REMINDER TO VOTE  ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, and polls are open from 6 A.M. to 8 P.M.  Check your Sample Ballot to confirm polling place.  For questions about voting or polling place, call the Municipal Clerk's office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 240.
  2. ALERT:   Mercer County Is Performing Work for the Township on Millstone Road from Old Trenton Road to the Millstone River Bridge at the Cranbury Township Border.  During the milling and paving work, the roadway will be CLOSED to through traffic, and detours will be signed.  Millstone Road will remain open for local traffic onlyWork hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 A.M.to 3 P.M.  All roadway work is expected to be completed no later than Monday, November 5.
  3. East Windsor Will Hold Free Rabies Clinics for dog and cat owners on Saturday, November 3 from 1 P.M to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 (51 One Mile Road) and on Saturday, November 10 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 (69 Twin Rivers Drive).  Owners will be required to show a certificate of previous rabies vaccination to receive a vaccination valid for three years;  otherwise vaccinations of only one year duration will be provided.  For safety, all animals must be properly restrained by leash or carried.  For more information, contact the Animal Control Officer at (609) 448-5678, ext. 229 or (CLICK HERE).
  4. East Windsor Encourages Residents to Support and Participate in Womanspace "Communities of Light" Scheduled for Monday, December 3Residents can support the event by purchasing candles and gathering with local elected officials and police on Monday, December 3 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building, followed by refreshments.  Citizens can participate by purchasing luminary kits, containing six candles, for $10 each, at the East Windsor Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) at any time, or at the East Windsor Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard) Monday to Friday, from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., and bringing the luminary kits to the event.  All proceeds will go 100% directly to Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals affected by domestic violence and dedicated to improving the quality of life of abuse victims and their families.  For further information, call (609) 448-5678, ext. 231.


    Purchase Communities of Light luminary kits, with six candles, at the East Windsor Township Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard) and East Windsor Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road) for $10 to raise funds for Womanspace.  East Windsor officials and citizens will assemble on Monday, December 3 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building, as a beacon of hope for the victims of domestic violence and their families. 
  5. Mercer County Holds Paper Shredding Day on Saturday, November 3 from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at Lot 4, South Broad Street, Trenton (across from county administration building at 640 South Broad Street).  Residents may bring up to eight boxes or bags of paper; no household chemicals and no commercial businesses are permitted.  Proof of residency such as a driver's license is required.  For further information, visit www.mcianj.org or call (609) 278-8086.
  6. East Windsor Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members Celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the East Windsor Township Senior Center.  The 15th Anniversary celebration of the 11,000 square foot East Windsor Township Senior Center, dedicated in September 2003 and constructed entirely with private funds and grants, kicked off with the presentation of a proclamation to Township Commission of Aging members by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members.  The 15th Anniversary event featured a short essay contest, "What I Like Best About Our Senior Center" essay contest and recognized Fay Fisch and Kathleen Griffin for their dedication as Senior Center super volunteers.  Today the East Windsor Township Senior Center membership has grown from a few hundred to over 1,400 members and offers a wide array of programs and activities, including exercise, yoga, Zumba, and dance classes, arts and crafts activities, many health screenings, educational and health talks, computer programs, movies, parties, stage events, and a variety of trips.  The Senior Center has become an important community focus for senior citizens helping to keep members healthy, vibrant and independent.

  7. East Windsor "Operation Medicine Cabinet" Held on Saturday, October 27 Collected Additional 8.3 Pounds, Resulting in a Total of 106 Pounds, of unused and expired prescription medications, which were turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.  "Operation Medicine Cabinet" provides a secure and legal means to dispose of these prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reduces possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs.  The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road).


     
  8. Berkshire Bank Recognized for 2018 Platinum Sponsorship of the East Windsor Township Community Summer Event Series at Etra Park.  Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Deputy Mayor John H. Zoller presented Berkshire Bank, located at 18 Princeton Hightstown Road, with a plaque recognizing the bank's support of the Township Community Summer Event Series at Etra Lake Park.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:   Volunteer Opportunity in Television Broadcasting Available.  If you are interested in broadcasting and would like hands-on training on a live, local television program, opportunities are available to work with the award winning "Spotlight East Windsor" program, one hour every other Wednesday night, at the East Windsor Municipal Building.  Volunteers will learn camera techniques, audio, lighting, video switching, videotape operation and much more.  Interested individuals should contact the Municipal Clerk's office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 237 and provide your name and contact information.  For technical information, contact Dick Cunningham at (609) 443-1199.
  11. High School Students Invited to Serve as Student Members of East Windsor Township Boards and Commissions.  The boards and commissions included in the program are Commission on Aging, Clean Communities Committee, Economic Development Commission, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Committee and Recreation Commission, as well as the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.  High school students who wish to be considered should submit a letter indicating their area of interest and reasons or related background, by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303 or by mail to Mayor Janice S. Township Recreation Department Offers Trip to “Disney On Ice: Mickey’s Search Party” on Saturday, December 29 (for 7 P.M. show) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The bus will depart the Municipal Building parking lot (16 Lanning Boulevard) at 5 P.M.  The $60 cost per person includes motor coach transportation and admission to Club Box 11 which has a lounge and private restroom.  Attendees under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  For more information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 225 or (CLICK HERE) to register.

Township Recreation Department Offers Trip to New Jersey Devils vs Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Game on Saturday, January 12, 2019 (for 1 P.M. game) at the Prudential Center in Newark.  The bus will depart from the Municipal Building parking lot (16 Lanning Boulevard) at 11 A.M.  The $75 cost per person includes motor coach transportation, a ticket for entry to the game in Section 226, and a NJ Devils drawstring bag.  Attendees under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  For more information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 225 or (CLICK HERE) to register.
