  1. East Windsor Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members Celebrate Lee Turkey Farm 150 Year Anniversary! Mayor Mironov presented a Proclamation to Lee Turkey Farm owners Ronny and Janet Lee, and family members Dick and Ruth Lee and Dylan Lee, recognizing this milestone 150th Anniversary of the Lee Turkey Farm, "rich in history and innovation due to the perseverance and continuous dedicated work of the Lee Family." Mayor and Council Members also unveiled a roadway sign commemorating the 150th Anniversary of this special East Windsor treasure, which will be installed on the Route 130 entrances to the Township. The Farm, located at 201 Hickory Corner Road, has been operated by the Lee Family for six generations dating back to 1868, while the original five room section of the farmhouse and the barn date back to 1802. The Lee Turkey Farm was the first "pick-your-own" produce farm in New Jersey and further became a leader in energy conservation when it became the first New Jersey Farm to use solar panels to power farm operations. The Farm has raised turkeys for 80 years and raises some 3,000 turkeys annually which can be purchased year round. Today, the Lee Turkey Farm continues to be a popular destination for local residents, families, school groups and tourists from all over the tri-state region to "pick your own" fruit and vegetables, take tours of the historic farm, explore the annual corn maze and purchase their fruits, vegetables, and oven-ready turkeys. At the urging and advocacy of East Windsor Township and the desires of the Lee family, the Farm was preserved in 2006 under the Mercer County farmland preservation program ensuring the historic landmark property is preserved as farmland forever and cannot be developed for housing.

The celebration included the unveiling by Township officials of roadway signs which will be erected on the entrances on Route 130 honoring the popular Lee Turkey Farm on its milestone 150th Anniversary.
