  1. REMINDER: East Windsor Will Hold Free Rabies Clinics for dog and cat owners on Saturday, November 14 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 at 69 Twin Rivers Drive. Owners will be required to show a certificate of previous rabies vaccination to receive a vaccination of three year duration; otherwise vaccinations of one year duration only will be provided. For safety, all animals must be properly restrained by leash or carried. All persons attending the rabies clinic are required to wear a face covering over their mouth and nose at all times and must maintain social distancing of six feet minimum, per CDC guidelines.   2. REMINDER: Mercer County Holds Paper Shredding Day on Saturday, November 14 from 9 A.M. to 12 Noon or until trucks reach full capacity, rain or shine, in Parking Lot 4 at 651 South Broad Street (across from Mercer County Administration Building), Trenton. Residents may bring up to eight boxes or bags of paper; no commercial businesses are permitted. Proof of residency such as a driver's license is required.   3. East Windsor Has Been Allocated by the NJ Department of Community Affairs up to a Maximum Distribution of $567,200 from the New Jersey Local Government Emergency Fund. These funds are part of the $60 million in relief funds announced by the Governor to towns and counties from an allocation of the state’s federal CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund, to provide direct relief to local governments who have continued to support their community needs throughout this pandemic. This funding, if approved by the State, will support COVID related costs incurred for essential government services, including health associated expenses, public safety, COVID-19-related overtime, remote working equipment and technology, meeting support platforms and technology.
  4. Applications for "The Property Tax Freeze" for Seniors Deadline Extended to December 31, 2020. Homeowners who were 65 or older or 100% disabled in 2018 and received Federal Social Security Disability benefits may be eligible for this program that establishes a base year for property taxes and reimburses the homeowner for any increase in the future tax years. To qualify, a senior must live in New Jersey continuously for at least 10 years, owned or lived in his/her home or mobile home for at least the last 3 years, paid the full amount of property taxes or site fees due for the base year and each succeeding year for which the reimbursement is claimed, and had gross income for 2019 of $91,505 or less and for 2018 of $89,013 or less.   5. Final Township Fall Leaf Collection Passes Begin Monday, November 16. Leaf Collection for Area #1 residents will begin Monday, November 16 and end Saturday, November 21. Collection for Area #2 residents will begin on Monday, November 23 and end on Saturday, November 28. Additional full passes will be made throughout the Township beginning Monday, November 30 and concluding Friday, December 18, weather permitting. Leaves may not be put out after Wednesday, December 16 to allow crews to finish the final pass by December 18.
  6. No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 and All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Garbage Collection for Area #1 residents, normally, on Thursday, November 26, will be on the next scheduled collection day of Monday, November 30. Garbage Collection for Area #2 residents, normally on Friday, November 27, will be on the next scheduled collection date of Tuesday, December 1.
