  1. ALERT: New Jersey Department of Transportation Route 133 Resurfacing Project Is Substantially Complete with Minor Work Remaining. Work will continue to take place during overnight hours, 7 P.M. to 7 A.M. Route 133 will remain open during non-work hours. Upcoming work includes final striping, paving of emergency access turns and punch list items. Residents should be alert to posted road and ramp closures and detours. NJDOT anticipates the project to be completed by August 31, weather permitting.
  2. Mayor and Council Approve Auction of Surplus Property No Longer Needed for Public Operations Via Online Auction, conducted by Municibid, starting Monday, August 24 at 9 A.M. and concluding August 31 by 9 P.M. Property, being sold "as is," includes 20 automobiles, 5 heavy duty vehicles, 6 bicycles, electronic equipment and other miscellaneous items. Bidders must register on the Municibid.com website to become eligible to participate.   3. Eleanor Wilton of Girl Scout Troop 70913 Earns Girl Scout Gold Award. Eleanor Wilton’s Gold Award project, entitled “Stress Management and Coping Skills”, consisted of planning, organizing and leading workshops for middle schoolers to learn about stress from an age-appropriate scientific perspective, have open discussions about stress and explore coping techniques, and the creation and distribution of informational pamphlets for both students and parents about stress and coping skills.  The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting, with only approximately 5% of eligible Girl Scouts achieving this prestigious scout recognition.

  4. East Windsor Township Invites Proposals for Art Installation at Route 130 and Route 33 Southern Township Gateway Intersection. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members are seeking ideas for the potential creation of a visible outdoor landmark on Township owned property at the southern Township intersection of Route 130 and Route 33. Concept proposals should include installation of an original work of art that provides an attractive and memorable entry point into the Township, which is sufficiently sized to be visible to vehicle traffic on both Route 130 and Route 33, and is durable to last at least 10 years outdoors. Proposals should be submitted to the Township Clerk's office by September 30. Additional information is available on the Township website (CLICK HERE).
  5. November 3 General Election Will Be Conducted Primarily Through Vote By Mail Ballots, in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order No. 177 (CLICK HERE).  The county clerk will mail Vote by Mail ballots with pre-paid postage to all active registered voters for the General Election.  A drop-off box for Vote by Mail Ballots will be available 24 hours a day in front of the East Windsor Municipal Court Building, 80 One Mile Road.  Ballots returned through the United States Postal Service with a postmark on or before November 3 and received by November 10 will be counted.
  6. Mercer County Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Friday, September 18, from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M. and Saturday, September 19, from 8 A.M. to 3 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township.  No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency.  Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellants, mercury, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs.  Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions, and microwaves will be accepted.  For further information, visit the MCIA website at www.mcianj.org or call (609) 278-8086.
  7. East Windsor Township Economic Development Committee and Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber Sponsored a Joint On-line Video Conference with Mayor Janice S. Mironov.  The program entitled "A Virtual Gathering on COVID-19 Return to Business" focused on the progress of re-opening businesses after the COVID-19 lockdown and how best to support local businesses to ensure their success.  She was joined by Nina Melker of Berkshire Bank who provided an update on the federal Payroll Protection Program and other sources of future funding for local businesses.  The conference video can be viewed on the Township website (CLICK HERE).
