  1. ALERT: New Jersey Department of Transportation Route 133 Resurfacing Project Is Substantially Complete with Minor Work Remaining. Work will continue to take place during overnight hours, 7 P.M. to 7 A.M. Route 133 will remain open during non-work hours. Upcoming work includes final striping, paving of emergency access turns, and punch list items. Residents should be alert to posted road and ramp closures and detours. NJDOT anticipates the project to be completed by August 31, weather permitting.
  2. East Windsor Roadway Improvements to Charred Oak Lane And Shagbark Lane have been completed.
  3. Mayor and Council Approve Auction of Surplus Property No Longer Needed for Public Operations Via Online Auction, conducted by Municibid, starting Monday, August 24 at 9 A.M. and concluding August 31 by 9 P.M. Property, being sold "as is," includes 20 automobiles, 5 heavy duty vehicles, 6 bicycles, electronic equipment and other miscellaneous items. Bidders must register on the Municibid.com website to become eligible to participate.   4. East Windsor Township Awarded $48,445 New Jersey Clean Communities Grant from NJ Department of Environmental Protection and Clean Communities Council. The NJ Clean Communities is a state-wide litter abatement program created by State legislation and managed by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and the Clean Communities Council. The Clean Communities Act establishes a funding mechanism for the program by placing a user fee on manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors who produce litter-generating products. The grant supports many Township budget expenditures, as well as many community activities and programs to promote community recycling and litter clean-up, including Township-wide recycling events, the East Windsor Township Adopt-a-Spot program, the annual Earth Day Recycling Poster Contest for elementary school students, Litter Free recognition for local businesses, participation in the Mercer Green Fest, educational programs about the environment for local elementary schools, and other outreach and education initiatives.
  5. Arbor Day Foundation Names East Windsor Tree City USA Community for 2019 for Township Commitment to Community Forestry. East Windsor Township, for the 20th year, has earned this national designation meeting the four standards set by the Arbor Day Foundation: having a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, a comprehensive forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance. The program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.
  6. East Windsor Township Invites Proposals for Art Installation at Route 130 and Route 33 Gateway Intersection. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members are seeking ideas for the potential creation of a visible outdoor landmark on Township owned property at the southern Township intersection of Route 130 and Route 33. Concept proposals should include installation of an original work of art the provides an attractive and memorable entry point into the Township, which is sufficiently sized to be visible to vehicle traffic on both Route 130 and Route 33, and is durable to last at least 10 years outdoors. Proposals should be submitted to the Township Clerk's office by September 30. Additional information is available on the Township website (CLICK HERE).
