  1. East Windsor Township Annual Reorganization Meeting Is Scheduled for Wednesday, January 1 at 2 P.M.  at the East Windsor Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard).  The public is invited to attend the largely ceremonial meeting at which the Township Council makes appointments to Township boards and committees, and does various recognitions.  A reception and refreshments will follow the meeting. 
  2. East Windsor Township Mayor and Council Encourage Citizens to Volunteer for Township Boards and Committees.  Citizens can apply to serve on the Clean Communities Advisory Committee, Commission on Aging, East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, Economic Development Committee, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Board, Planning Board, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.  Residents interested in volunteering can obtain an application form from the municipal clerk or can fill out this form (CLICK HERE) and return by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303, or by mail to Mayor Janice S.   3. Residents Are Encouraged to Register and Urge Other Residents to Register to Receive E-News Updates. E-News is used for alert communications in significant weather and service impacted situations, as well as generally weekly to provide information on new businesses and stores, roadway projects, grants, special events and other subjects of public interest. PLEASE SEND THIS E-NEWS INFORMATION TO YOUR EAST WINDSOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ENCOURAGING THEM TO SIGN-UP. 
  4. Residents Are Encouraged to Register to Receive Nixle Communications System Alerts, implemented by Mayor and Council, to enable immediate text messages to registered cell phones and email addresses, to alert residents and businesses about safety and health subjects of concern, such as severe weather conditions, traffic disruption alerts, road closures, flooding conditions, power outages and important public health notices, as well as other significant community updates and important announcements.  The Nixle communications tool will assist the Township in notifying large numbers of people in real time concerning conditions or issues affecting safety and travel issues.  Residents are encouraged to register for the notifications by texting "08520" to the number 888-777 from their cell phone.  Residents also can register online (CLICK HERE) to receive the notifications via email and/or mobile phone.  IMPORTANT NOTE:   Regardless of your zip code, you must register under the zip code 08520 to receive East Windsor related Nixle alerts. 
  5. ALERT:   Stockton Street (County Route 571), between Route 130 in East Windsor and Main Street (Route 33) in Hightstown, is CLOSED to through traffic Monday through Friday, from 9 A.M.to 3 P.M., for utility construction.  Detours are posted.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of December, weather dependent. 
  6. East Windsor Township Police Department Awarded $8,446 in Federal and State Grants For Police Body Armor.  The grant funds include $4,253 received under the United States Department of Justice Bullet Proof Vest Partnership and $4,193 from the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice State Body Armor Replacement Fund Program.  The grant funds are used to supplement Township expenditures for the periodic replacement of body armor issued to and used by Township police.
  7. East Windsor Awarded $5,500 "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" 2019 Year-End Holiday Crackdown Enforcement Grant.  The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety grant program is a part of a statewide campaign aimed at improving public safety by encouraging responsible driving during the 2019 year-end holiday season.  The grant provides funding for police officer salaries for enforcement activities directed at the detection and apprehension of intoxicated drivers.  The enforcement activities will continue to run through January 1
  8. Recreation Department Offers Trip to “Disney On Ice: Road Trip Adventure" on Monday, December 30 (for 3 P.M. show) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The bus will depart the Municipal Building parking lot (16 Lanning Blvd.) at 1 P.M.  The $62 cost per person includes motor coach transportation and admission to Club Box 11 which has a lounge and a private restroom.  Attendees under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  For more information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 225 or (CLICK HERE) to register. 
  9. Recreation Department Offers Trip to New Jersey Devils vs Washington Capitals Hockey Game on Saturday, February 22, 2020 (for 1 P.M. Game) at the Prudential Center in Newark.  The bus will depart from the Municipal Building parking lot (16 Lanning Boulevard) at 11 A.M.  The $86 cost per person includes motor coach transportation, a ticket for entry to the game in Section 132 and a NJ Devils drawstring bag.  Attendees under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  For more information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 225 or (CLICK HERE) to register. 
  10. Recreation Department Offers Snow Tubing Trip to Mountain Creek on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon, New Jersey.  The bus will depart the Municipal Building parking lot (16 Lanning Blvd.) at 8 A.M.  The $56 cost per person includes motor coach transportation, 2 hour lift ticket for snow tubing session and lunch.  Snow tubing participants must be at least 5 years of age and 42” tall.  Attendees under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  For more information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 225 or (CLICK HERE) to register. 
  11. ALL Township Offices Will Be CLOSED on Wednesday, December 25 and Wednesday, January 1Recycling collection for Area #2 residents, normally on Wednesday, December 25, will be on Thursday, December 26.  Residents who normally have bulk items collection on the first Wednesday i.e. Wednesday, January 1, can place bulk items with regular garbage collected on Monday, December 30 or Thursday, January 2.  Visit the Township website (CLICK HERE) for additional garbage collection information.
