  1. East Windsor Township Incumbents Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Deputy Mayor Marc Lippman, Council Member Peter Yeager and Council Member John Zoller Re-Elected by wide margin by voters in November 5 General Election.  November 5 General Election Results are available on the Mercer County Clerk website (CLICK HERE).

  2. REMINDER:   East Windsor Will Hold Free Rabies Clinic for dog and cat owners on Saturday, November 9 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 (69 Twin Rivers Drive).  Owners will be required to show a certificate of previous rabies vaccination to receive a vaccination of three year duration; otherwise vaccinations of one year duration only will be provided.  For safety, all animals must be properly restrained by leash or carried.  For more information, contact the Animal Control Officer at (609) 448-5678, ext. 229 or (CLICK HERE). 
  3. Oaths of Office Administered to New Police Officers Michael A. Pidhorecki, Jr., Joshua B. Pohl, Evan T. McNamara and Christopher W. McDermott to Fill Vacated Positions.  Police Officer Michael A. Pidhorecki Jr., who graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy in May 2018, is pursuing an Associate's Degree from Brookdale Community College.  He previously worked as a Class I and Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer with the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department.  Police Officer Joshua B. Pohl, who graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy in June 2019, is a graduate of East Windsor Regional School District Hightstown High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Arcadia University.  He is a volunteer firefighter with the East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company #2 who was recognized as 2017 "Firefighter of the Year," and previously worked as a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer with the North Wildwood Police Department.  Police Officer Evan T. McNamara, who graduated from the Monmouth County Police Academy in May 2019, earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Brookdale Community College.  He previously worked as a Class I and Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer with the Bradley Beach Police Department and as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Wall Township Police Department.  Police Officer Christopher W. McDermott, who graduated from the Monmouth County Police Academy in May 2019, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law and Justice from Rowan University.  He previously worked as a Class I and Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer with the Spring Lake Police Department.  New police officers, Michael Pidhorecki, Joshua Pohl, Evan McNamara and Christopher McDermott, have been assigned to the Uniform Services Division.

  4. East Windsor Encourages Residents to Support and Participate in Womanspace "Communities of Light" Scheduled for Monday, December 2.  Residents can support the event by purchasing candles and gathering with local elected officials and police on Monday, December 2 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building, followed by light refreshments.  Citizens can participate by purchasing luminary kits, containing six candles each, for $10 at any time at the East Windsor Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) or during work hours Monday to Friday, from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., at the East Windsor Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard), and bringing the luminary kits to the event.  All proceeds will go 100% directly to Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals affected by domestic violence and dedicated to improving the quality of life of abuse victims and their families.  For further information, call (609) 448-5678, ext. 231.


    Purchase "Communities of Light" luminary kits, with six candles, at the East Windsor Township Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard) and East Windsor Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road) for $10 to raise funds for Womanspace.  East Windsor officials and citizens will assemble on Monday, December 2 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building, as a beacon of hope for the victims of domestic violence and their families. 
  5. ALERT:   Route 130/Hankins Road/Conover Road Realignment Project Work Actively Continues.  The Conover Road intersection at Route 130 is fully CLOSED until project completion.  Drivers should follow posted detours.  The improvement project provides for Route 130, Hankins Road and Conover Road to be realigned to meet at a single point controlled by a traffic signal and allowing for all left-turn movements.  Upon completion, drivers will be able to make signal protected left turns from Route 130 South onto Conover Road and from Conover Road onto Route 130 South, and allow direct access across Route 130 from Conover Road to Hankins Road.  This realignment project includes drainage improvements and the relocation of existing utilities.  The project is partially funded by a $525,000 grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation.  A December 1 completion date is anticipated, weather permitting. 
  6. New Jersey Homestead Rebate Application Deadline is Monday, December 2, 2019.  The New Jersey Division of Taxation states the 2017 Homestead Benefit Application Packets were delivered on or about September 24.  Homeowners must file applications either online or by phone.  The online application, available at www.njtaxation.org, and the automated telephone filing system at 1-877-658-2972, are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  To be eligible, homeowners:  must own and occupy their home as their principle residence on October 1, 2017; have a 2017 gross income not more than $150,000 for disabled homeowners or those 65 or older, as of December 31, 2017, or $75,000 in 2017 gross income for homeowners under 65 as of December 31, 2017 and not disabled; must be permanent legal residents of New Jersey, the home was subject to local property tax and the 2017 property taxes are paid.
  7. East Windsor Township Mayor and Council Encourage Citizens to Volunteer for Township Boards and Committees.  Citizens can apply to serve on the Clean Communities Advisory Committee, Commission on Aging, East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, Economic Development Committee, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Board, Planning Board, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.  Residents interested in volunteering can obtain an application form from the municipal clerk or can fill out this form (CLICK HERE) and return by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303, or by mail to Mayor Janice S.   8. High School Students Invited to Serve as Student Members of East Windsor Township Boards and Commissions.  The boards and commissions included in the program are Commission on Aging, Clean Communities Committee, Economic Development Commission, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Committee and Recreation Commission, as well as the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.  High school students who wish to be considered should submit a letter indicating their area of interest and reasons or related background, by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303 or by mail to Mayor Janice S.   9. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:  Volunteer Opportunity in Television Broadcasting Available.  If you are interested in broadcasting and would like hands-on training on a live, local television program, opportunities are available to work with the award winning "Spotlight East Windsor" program, one hour every other Wednesday night, at the East Windsor Municipal Building.  Volunteers will learn camera techniques, audio, lighting, video switching, videotape operation and much more.  Those interested should contact the Municipal Clerk’s office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 237 and leave your name and contact information. 
  10. East Windsor "Operation Medicine Cabinet" Held on Saturday, October 26 Collected Additional 98.3 Pounds, Resulting in Total of 321.6 Pounds, of unused and expired prescription medications, which were turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.  "Operation Medicine Cabinet" provided a secure and legal means to dispose of these prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reduces possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs.  The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road).

                                  
  11. Mercer County Park Commission Will Present the Draft Master Plan for the Development of a New Recreation Park at Dam Site 21, on Tuesday, November 12 from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at The Conference Center at Mercer County Community College (1200 Old Trenton Road Road, West Windsor).  Dam Site 21 is a 370-acre property along Miry Run which flows into the Delaware River, and is located on Old Trenton Road across from Mercer County Community College.  The site includes a lake, undeveloped uplands, wetlands, woodlands, and open fields.  Additional information is available online at (CLICK HERE) or by contacting Sarah Leeper at sleeper@simonecollins.com or (610) 239-7601.  
  12. Township Recreation Department Offers Trip to “Disney On Ice: Road Trip Adventure" on Monday, December 30 (for 3 P.M. show) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The bus will depart the Municipal Building parking lot (16 Lanning Blvd.) at 1 P.M.  The $62 cost per person includes motor coach transportation and admission to Club Box 11 which has a lounge and a private restroom.  Attendees under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  For more information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 225 or (CLICK HERE) to register.
