May 15, 2026 - East Windsor Township Awarded $2 Million Federal Funding Obtained by Congressman Herb Conaway for the Probasco Road Freight Bypass. Mayor Mironov and Council Members requested and with the support of Congressman Herb Conaway, as well as Senator Cory Booker and Senator Andy Kim, secured the federal funding for the project. The Probasco Road Freight Bypass is intended to design and construct an alternate truck route, to connect directly to Route 133 for access to the New Jersey Turnpike and major networks, to reduce the number of trucks on Probasco Road and surrounding roadways. The bypass project is intended to facilitate traffic flow in the area and to enhance safety for the adjoining residential areas for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians.

Congressman Herb Conaway presented this $2 Million ceremonial check to Mayor and Council for the Probasco Road Freight Bypass project. - ALERT: On Monday, May 18, Mercer County Plans to Commence Milling and Resurfacing of Windsor-Perrineville Road and Imlaystown Road (County Route 630). Windsor-Perrineville Road work will be from Imlaystown Road to the Mercer County border and the Imlaystown Road work will be from Windsor-Perrineville Road to the Mercer County border. Both improvement projects involve the reconstruction of current pavement surface travel lanes and will not extend to or include the future planned improvements within the same area. During the staged construction, Windsor-Perrineville Road and Imlaystown Road will be closed separately to through traffic from 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., with access for local residents and emergency vehicles. Detours will be posted, directing motorists for the Windsor-Perrineville Road resurfacing stage to use Imlaystown Road, Nurko Road and Parkside Way. During the Imlaystown Road resurfacing stage, motorists will be directed to use Windsor-Perrineville Road and Parkside Way. The entire project is anticipated to be completed within ten business days, weather permitting.
- 2026 "Sylvia Weiss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer" Presented to Linda L. Moore by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members. Linda Moore, since relocating to East Windsor in 1971, has decades of extensive community involvement as a dedicated volunteer, her service being early, deep, broad and sustained to this day. Currently, she continues to serve in her 27th year as Chairperson of the East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, where she helps guide major infrastructure improvements for water and wastewater treatment upgrades and the installation of a solar array that fully powers the EWMUA Millstone Road facility. Linda also served for over 10 years through 2023 as a volunteer for the Womanspace (now YoUnity) Domestic Violence Victim Response Team, providing support and counselling to abuse victims. She was the first female mayor of East Windsor and served two terms on Township Council. Over these years, Linda Moore was a founding member and chair of the CAPPS Community Arts Partnership at the Peddie School bringing arts and music to the local community, as well as a member of the Township planning board, health board, economic development committee and the environmental commission. The Award, named after Sylvia Weiss, a former Council Member and past Council senior citizen advisor who was instrumental in the original formation of the senior citizen program, was created to recognize a senior citizen who has exhibited outstanding service through volunteerism to community. Congratulations to Linda Moore who exemplifies the special spirit of this Award!

Walk and Talk is a community wellness initiative designed to encourage physical activity, promote overall health, and strengthen connections among residents. Through a relaxed Saturday morning walk, participants are invited to enjoy a simple, accessible form of exercise while engaging in conversation, meeting neighbors, and supporting a shared commitment to community well-being. The goal of the Walk and Talk is to make health and wellness approachable for residents of all ages and abilities by encouraging regular movement, social interaction, and active participation in the East Windsor community.
 - East Windsor Township Awarded 2026 New Jersey Clean Communities Grant of $63,908. NJ Clean Communities is a state-wide litter abatement program created by State legislation and managed by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and the Clean Communities Council. These grants are designed to help towns beautify their areas and keep them free of litter. Municipalities can use the funding to educate the public about the environmental impacts of littering, organize volunteer litter cleanups, acquire equipment for litter removal, clear debris from stormwater drains, remove graffiti, and support the enforcement of local litter laws. These funds come from taxes imposed on businesses that manufacture litter-producing products, as well as fines for litter-related offenses.
- East Windsor Township and Mercer County Hosted a Special Local Passport Day on Thursday, May 14 at the East Windsor Municipal Building, to provide a local convenient opportunity here in East Windsor for residents to apply for and process passports. The County Clerk's office staff were able to assist many residents in the passport application process. Thank you to County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello and the Mercer County Clerk's office staff!
 Mayor Janice Mironov, Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello and Mercer County Clerk staff host Passport Day at the East Windsor Municipal building. - Click It or Ticket" Seat Belt Campaign Funded by $7,000 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety (NJDHTS), will run from May 18 to May 31. The NJDHTS 2026 "Click It or Ticket" seat belt campaign is a statewide campaign aimed at increasing compliance with State law that requires the use of seat belts. These funds will be used to pay the salaries of Township police officers who will be assigned patrol activities directed toward the identification and ticketing of motorists who fail to use seat belts as required by State law.
- Hightstown-East Windsor Memorial Day Parade Is Monday, May 25, and will kick-off at 9 A.M. at Grace N. Rogers Elementary School on Stockton Street in Hightstown. The route will proceed along Academy Street, Bank Street, and Main Street before returning to Academy Street, continuing to Morrison Avenue, and concluding back at Grace N. Rogers Elementary School. The annual community event will feature many local groups including veterans associations, rescue squads and fire companies, school musical groups, scout organizations, religious organizations and other area participants.
- All Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, May 25 due to the Memorial Day holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, May 25, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date, which is Thursday, May 28.
