1. East Windsor Township Encourages Residents to Support and Participate in Womanspace "Communities of Light" Scheduled for Monday, December 5. Citizens and businesses can participate and support Womanspace by purchasing candles and gathering with local elected officials and police on Monday, December 5 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building. Luminary kits, containing six candles each, can be purchased for $10 at any time at the East Windsor Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) and bringing the luminary kits to the event. All proceeds will go 100% directly to Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals affected by domestic violence and dedicated to improving the quality of life of abuse victims and their families.    Purchase "Communities of Light" luminary kits, with six candles, at the East Windsor Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road) for $10 to raise funds for Womanspace. East Windsor officials and citizens will assemble on Monday, December 5 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building, as a beacon of hope for the victims of domestic violence and their families.
   
2. REMINDER: East Windsor Township Offers COVID-19 Vaccination and Boosters Including Bivalent Booster Clinic on Tuesday, December 6 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at Hickory Corner Branch Library (138 Hickory Corner Road). Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as bivalent booster doses for those who are eligible. Vaccinations and Pfizer boosters will be available for children ages 5 and older. 3. East Windsor Awarded $7,000 "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" 2022 Year-End Holiday Enforcement Grant. The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety grant is to underwrite salaries of police officers for added enforcement activities directed at the detection and apprehension of intoxicated drivers. The program, which runs from December 2 through January 1, is a statewide campaign aimed at improving public safety by encouraging responsible driving during the 2022 year-end holiday season.
4. NOTICE: New Property Tax Relief Program Application Filing Deadline Extended to Tuesday, January 31, 2023. The Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program replaces the Homestead Benefit program and expands the amount of property tax relief and number of eligible homeowners and tenants. Applications can be filed either online or by phone. The online application for homeowners can be found here, the online application for tenants can be found here, and the automated telephone filing system phone number is (877) 658-2972, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Eligible homeowners must have owned and occupied their home as their principal residence on October 1, 2019 and have a 2019 gross income not more than $250,000. Eligible tenants must have rented and occupied an apartment or residence that was their principal residence on October 1, 2019, lived in a unit with its own separate kitchen and bath facilities, and have a 2019 gross income of not more than $150,000. The 2019 property taxes must be paid.
5. East Windsor Township Mayor and Council Encourage Citizens to Volunteer for Township Boards and Committees. Citizens can apply to serve on the Clean Communities Advisory Committee, Commission on Aging, East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, Economic Development Committee, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Board, Planning Board, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse. 6. High School Students Invited to Serve as Student Members of East Windsor Township Boards and Commissions. The boards and commissions included in the program are Commission on Aging, Clean Communities Committee, Economic Development Commission, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Committee and Recreation Commission, as well as the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.
