  1. East Windsor Township Is Holding Document Shredding and Recycling Event on Saturday, October 1 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). This Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members, will offer Free document shredding to East Windsor residents (no commercial drop-offs are permitted), with a limit of ten boxes per household, and until the shredding truck is full. Residents also will be able to drop off electronics, specifically, televisions, computers, computer equipment and accessories, monitors, fax machines, VCR's and cable boxes, as well as cell phones, household batteries, fluorescent bulbs and toner cartridges. RISE will have trucks on-site to collect useable clothing, shoes, blankets, housewares (plates, mugs and related items) and working household appliances and electronics.   2. Mayor Janice S. Mironov to Present State of the Township Address at Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber Economic Development Breakfast on Wednesday, October 12, at the East Windsor Holiday Inn (399 Monmouth Street). Mayor Mironov's annual State of the Township Address will include a report on accomplishments, current goals and projects and preview of what is on the horizon for the East Windsor business community. Breakfast will begin at 8:00 A.M. with the program beginning promptly at 8:30 A.M. All business and interested members of the community are invited to attend. The cost of the event is $40 for members and future members, and tickets are currently on sale through the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber website (CLICK HERE).   3. ALERT: Mercer County Began Roadway Improvements to Old Trenton Road (County Road 535) between Princeton-Hightstown Road and Dorchester Drive on Monday, September 19, anticipating a total project completion time of two weeks, weather permitting. The improvements include milling and resurfacing of the roadway, and work hours are Monday through Friday, 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. This portion of Old Trenton Road will be closed to through traffic in both directions; northbound and southbound traffic will be signed for detours.
  4. LAST CALL: East Windsor Is Seeking Nominations for the 2022 Township Business Awards Program. The purpose of the program is to recognize local businesses that make special efforts to improve or contribute to the community. The three categories of Township award recognition are: (1) Business Beautification - creating an attractive appearance, for example, through landscaping, flowers, and other enhancements to their structures and site; (2) Community Service - providing for community contributions and service, and (3) Community Enhancement - providing some manner of community enhancement, for example, through extraordinary job creation, an unusual or special product or opportunity or any community value added aspect related to their business. Green and sustainable practices, for example, green products, energy conservation, reduction of waste and energy consumption are encouraged and will be given more weight.   5. New Police Sergeant Troy McWhorter Promoted to Fill Vacant Position Created by Retirement. Sergeant Troy McWhorter, hired in September 2005, has served in Uniform Services as Field Training Officer, Primary and Secondary Officer in Charge and as Detective in Investigative Services. He also is a departmental Firearms Instructor and serves as a part-time Instructor at the Mercer County Police Academy. Sergeant McWhorter graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy and received his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University.

  6. Mercer County Holds Paper Shredding Day on Saturday, October 8 from 9 AM to 12 PM, rain or shine, at Lot 4, South Broad Street, Trenton (across from county administration building at 641 South Broad Street). Residents may bring up to eight boxes or bags of paper; no household chemicals and no commercial businesses are permitted. Proof of residency such as a driver's license is required.   7. Last Day to Register to Vote in the November 8 General Election Is Tuesday, October 18. Registration forms can be obtained online at www.njelections.org. or at the municipal clerk's office in town hall.
  8. Vote By Mail Applications for the November 8, 2022 Election Are Available on-line at the New Jersey Division of Elections website (CLICK HERE) or from the Municipal Clerk’s office. Applications must be mailed or delivered in person and cannot be submitted by facsimile or email. Mailed applications must be received at least seven days prior to the election. Voters can also walk into the County Clerk's office in Trenton and apply until 3 P.M. the day before the election.
