  1. REMINDER: Join East Windsor Township Officials on Monday, December 6 at 5 P.M. at the Municipal Building to Support and Participate in Womanspace "Communities of Light". Citizens and businesses can participate and support Womanspace by purchasing candles and gathering with local elected officials and police on Monday, December 6 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building. Luminary kits, containing six candles each, can be purchased for $10 at any time at the East Windsor Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) and bringing the luminary kits to the event. All proceeds will go 100% directly to Womanspace, the primary Mercer County organization providing a comprehensive array of services to individuals affected by domestic violence and dedicated to improving the quality of life of abuse victims and their families.     Purchase "Communities of Light" luminary kits, with six candles, at the East Windsor Police/Municipal Court Building (80 One Mile Road) for $10 to raise funds for Womanspace. East Windsor officials and citizens will assemble on Monday, December 6 at 5 P.M. to light up the East Windsor Municipal Building, as a beacon of hope for the victims of domestic violence and their families.
  2. East Windsor Township Awarded Sustainable Jersey Silver Level Certification Again! Sustainable Jersey is a statewide voluntary certification program for New Jersey municipalities wanting to go green, save money and sustain their quality of life over the long term. Sustainable Jersey certification enables communities to be eligible for future grants and funding opportunities. East Windsor again achieved Silver Level Sustainable Jersey Recertification with 33 actions in 12 categories, earning a total of 365 points for Township initiated programs and actions, including creation of a Green Team, community outreach programs, emergency communications planning, municipal on-site solar system, farmland preservation plans, community garden, sustainable land use pledge, business recognition programs, open space preservation, environmental assessment ordinance, green grounds and maintenance policy, pest management, community recycling/paper shredding events, backyard composting program, and "Cut it and Leave it" program.

  3. REMINDER: COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster Dose Clinic Offered on Wednesday, December 8 from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. by East Windsor Township at Beth El Synagogue (50 Maple Stream Road). Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines will be available, as well as Booster doses for those who are eligible and have already received initial vaccines. Vaccinations also will be available for children ages 5 through 11. Appointments Are Required, and MUST be made no later than December 7 at 3 P.M.   4. East Windsor Awarded $6,000 "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" 2021 Year-End Holiday Enforcement Grant. The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety grant is to underwrite salaries of police officers for added enforcement activities directed at the detection and apprehension of intoxicated drivers. The program, which runs from December 3 through January 1, is a statewide campaign aimed at improving public safety by encouraging responsible driving during the 2021 year-end holiday season.
  5. East Windsor Township Mayor and Council Encourage Citizens to Volunteer for Township Boards and Committees. Citizens can apply to serve on the Clean Communities Advisory Committee, Commission on Aging, East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, Economic Development Committee, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Board, Planning Board, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse. Residents interested in volunteering can obtain an application form from the municipal clerk or can fill out this form (CLICK HERE) and return by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303, or by mail to Mayor Janice S.   6. High School Students Invited to Serve as Student Members of East Windsor Township Boards and Commissions. The boards and commissions included in the program are Commission on Aging, Clean Communities Committee, Economic Development Commission, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Committee and Recreation Commission, as well as the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse. High school students who wish to be considered should submit a letter indicating their area of interest and reasons or related background, by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303 or by mail to Mayor Janice S.   7. Residents Are Encouraged to Register and Urge Other Residents to Register to Receive E-News Updates. E-News is used for alert communications in significant weather and service impacted situations, as well as generally weekly to provide information on new businesses and stores, roadway projects, grants, special events and other subjects of public interest.   8. Residents Are Encouraged to Register to Receive Nixle Communications System Alerts, implemented by Mayor and Council, to enable immediate text messages to registered cell phones and email addresses, to alert residents and businesses about safety and health subjects of concern, such as severe weather conditions, traffic disruption alerts, road closures, flooding conditions, power outages and important public health notices, as well as other significant community updates and important announcements. The Nixle communications tool will assist the Township in notifying large numbers of people in real time concerning conditions or issues affecting safety and travel issues. Residents are encouraged to register for the notifications by texting "08520" to the number 888-777 from their cell phone. Residents also can register online (CLICK HERE) to receive the notifications via email and/or mobile phone. IMPORTANT NOTE: Regardless of your zip code, you must register under the zip code 08520 to receive East Windsor related Nixle alerts.
