  1. REMINDER: Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, September 6 Due to the Labor Day Holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, September 6, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, September 9.   2. Ceremony for 20th Anniversary of 9/11 Will Be Held on Saturday, September 11 at 10 A.M. to remember and honor the anniversary of September 11. The ceremony will take place at the existing 9/11 Memorial located on the grounds of the East Windsor Township Municipal Building, at 16 Lanning Boulevard. Participants will include the school district, clergy, scout groups, police officers, fire company and rescue squad volunteers, and local officials. The public is welcome to join us.


  3. Mercer County Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, September 11, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions, and microwaves will be accepted.   4. East Windsor Is Seeking Nominations for the 2021 Township Business Awards Program. The purpose of the program is to recognize local businesses that make special efforts to improve or contribute to the community. The three categories of Township award recognition are: (1) Business Beautification - creating an attractive appearance, for example, through landscaping, flowers, and other enhancements to their structures and site; (2) Community Service - providing for community contributions and service, and (3) Community Enhancement - providing some manner of community enhancement, for example, through extraordinary job creation, an unusual or special product or opportunity or any community value added aspect related to their business. Green and sustainable practices, for example, green products, energy conservation, reduction of waste and energy consumption are encouraged and will be given more weight. Nomination forms are available at the Municipal Building and on-line at the Township website at (CLICK HERE). The deadline for nominations is September 17.
  5. East Windsor Roadway Improvements to Oakbranch Road, Pineybranch Road, Pinehurst Drive and Warren Drive Began with Concrete Work on Monday, August 30. The project will include milling and resurfacing, as well as repairs to curbs, driveway aprons, storm drains and handicapped ramps. The roadway improvements, funded by a $530,000 New Jersey Department of Transportation grant, are anticipated to be completed in late October, weather permitting. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 A.M. to 5 P.M.
  6. Vote By Mail Applications for the November 2, 2021 Election Are Available for Filing with the Mercer County Clerk. New Jersey law allows residents as an option to vote by mail. College students attending school outside the area are urged to apply as soon as possible if they do not plan on returning home to vote in the election. Vote-by-Mail applications are available at the Municipal Clerk’s office or on-line at the New Jersey Division of Elections website (CLICK HERE). Applications must be mailed and cannot be accepted by facsimile or email. Mailed applications must be received at least seven days prior to the election. Voters can also walk into the County Clerk's office in Trenton and apply until 3 P.M. the day before an election.
