  1. REMINDER: East Windsor to Hold "Gathering Time" Concert on Sunday, August 29 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. For over a decade, Long-Island-based folk-rock/Americana trio Gathering Time has toured both in the US and internationally, mixing new interpretations of both '60s and '70s classics and old traditional tunes with their strong original songs. In the event of questionable weather, call the East Windsor Information Hotline at (609) 443-4000, ext. 400 after 1 P.M. the day of the event.


    The audience enjoyed the music and a relaxing evening at the recent AM Gold concert at Etra Lake Park.
  2. Ceremony for 20th Anniversary of 9/11 Will Be Held on Saturday, September 11 at 10 A.M. to remember and honor the anniversary of September 11. The ceremony will take place at the existing 9/11 Memorial located on the grounds of the East Windsor Township Municipal Building, at 16 Lanning Boulevard. Participants will include the school district, clergy, scout groups, police officers, fire company and rescue squad volunteers, and local officials. The public is welcome to join us.

  3. East Windsor Roadway Improvements to Oakbranch Road, Pineybranch Road, Pinehurst Drive, and Warren Drive Are Now Scheduled to Begin with Concrete Work on or about Monday, August 30. The project will include milling and resurfacing, as well as repairs to curbs, driveway aprons, storm drains and handicapped ramps. The roadway improvements, funded by a $530,000 New Jersey Department of Transportation grant, are anticipated to be completed in late October, weather permitting.
  4. East Windsor Township and Hightstown Borough Jointly Awarded $100,000 Local Efficiency Achievement Program (LEAP) Implementation Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for Shared Services Improvements. The funds will be used to make several technology upgrades to the East Windsor Township and Hightstown Borough Police/Fire/EMS dispatch center including purchase of an Internet Protocol based phone system for the East Windsor Township Police Department and Hightstown Borough Police Department to support digital services and a new telephone/radio recording system for phone calls and radio transmissions for the East Windsor Township Police Department. These improvements will significantly enhance operations of the dispatch center and increase the overall ability of the dispatch center to effectively operate. The purpose of the grant is to support projects among New Jersey communities that have the potential to produce expansive and efficiency-generating shared services.
  5. Mercer County Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, September 11, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions, and microwaves will be accepted.   6. East Windsor Is Seeking Nominations for the 2021 Township Business Awards Program. The purpose of the program is to recognize local businesses that make special efforts to improve or contribute to the community. The three categories of Township award recognition are: (1) Business Beautification - creating an attractive appearance, for example, through landscaping, flowers, and other enhancements to their structures and site; (2) Community Service - providing for community contributions and service, and (3) Community Enhancement - providing some manner of community enhancement, for example, through extraordinary job creation, an unusual or special product or opportunity or any community value added aspect related to their business. Green and sustainable practices, for example, green products, energy conservation, reduction of waste and energy consumption are encouraged and will be given more weight. Nomination forms are available at the Municipal Building and on-line at the Township website at (CLICK HERE). The deadline for nominations is September 17.
  7. ALERT: Mercer County Milling and Paving of Stockton Street (County Route 571) in Hightstown Borough from Main Street (Highway 33) to Oak Lane continues to approximately September 3, weather permitting. Traffic is signed for a detour at Route 130 and Stockton Street using Route 130, Town Center Road and North Main Street (County Route 539). Only local traffic is permitted. Stockton Street will remain open during non-work hours. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 A.M. to 3 P.M.
  8. Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, September 6 Due to the Labor Day Holiday. Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, September 6, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, September 9.
