  1. ALERT: Mercer County Milling and Paving of Stockton Street (County Route 571) in Hightstown Borough from Main Street (Highway 33) to Oak Lane Began on Monday, August 9, and will continue for approximately four weeks, weather permitting. Traffic is signed for a detour at Route 130 and Stockton Street using Route 130, Town Center Road and North Main Street (County Route 539). Only local traffic is permitted. Stockton Street will remain open during non-work hours. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 A.M. to 3 P.M.
  2. East Windsor to Hold "Wooden Ships Band: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Tribute" on Sunday, August 22 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. "Take the beauty and intricacy of the vocal harmonies of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, add the voices of three women and you get a CSN experience that transcends the typical tribute band". These free events are made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.     The audience enjoyed the music and a relaxing evening at the recent AM Gold concert at Etra Lake Park.
  3. East Windsor to Hold "Gathering Time" Concert on Sunday, August 29 at 6 P.M. at Etra Lake Park. For over a decade, Long-Island-based folk-rock/Americana trio Gathering Time has toured both in the US and internationally, mixing new interpretations of both '60s and '70s classics and old traditional tunes with their strong original songs.   4. Mercer County Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, September 11, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil based paints, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions, and microwaves will be accepted.   5. East Windsor Is Seeking Nominations for the 2021 Township Business Awards Program. The purpose of the program is to recognize local businesses that make special efforts to improve or contribute to the community. The three categories of Township award recognition are: (1) Business Beautification - creating an attractive appearance, for example, through landscaping, flowers, and other enhancements to their structures and site; (2) Community Service - providing for community contributions and service, and (3) Community Enhancement - providing some manner of community enhancement, for example, through extraordinary job creation, an unusual or special product or opportunity or any community value added aspect related to their business. Green and sustainable practices, for example, green products, energy conservation, reduction of waste and energy consumption are encouraged and will be given more weight. Nomination forms are available at the Municipal Building and on-line at the Township website at (CLICK HERE). The deadline for nominations is September 17.
