  1. Grand Opening Celebrated of New Offices Housing Mental Health and Drug Abuse Counseling Services for East Windsor-Hightstown Community, Now Provided by Jewish Family & Children's Service (JFCS) of Greater Mercer CountyThe relocated services are funded by Mercer County with support by recently incorporated non-profit iCARE (Initiative for Counseling, Addiction, Renewal & Education) of East Windsor-Hightstown.  Professional clinical counselling services are available by appointment Monday through Thursday, 2 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the newly opened iCARE facility located at 133 Main Street, Hightstown.  Call (609) 987-8100 for additional information or to make an appointment.


    Mayor Janice S. Last Day to Register to Vote in the November 6 General Election is Tuesday, October 16 For individuals who wish to Vote by Mail, the deadline to apply is Tuesday, October 30 by mail and Monday, November 5 by 3 P.M. in person at the Office of the Mercer County Clerk.  Registration forms and vote by mail application forms can be obtained online at www.njelections.org.  Questions can be directed to the municipal clerk's office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 240.
  3. Improvements to Brooktree Road between Oak Creek Road and Dutch Neck Road and Wiltshire Road from Dutch Neck Road to Dorchester Drive Are Expected To Be Completed Today Friday, October 5.
  4. East Windsor Offers Free Flu Clinics on Thursday, October 11 and Tuesday, October 23, from 9:30 A.M. to 3 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for all residents 60 years and older.  The vaccinations are by appointment only, by calling the Township Health Department at (609) 443-4000, ext. 222.
  5. Hovione Pharmaceutical Company Celebrates Grand Opening of Major Facility Expansion Doubling Size and Jobs in the East Windsor Facility.  Hovione, a Portuguese-based pharmaceutical company, located at 40 Lake Drive in the vicinity of NJ Turnpike Exit 8, has added 28,000 square feet to the existing 24,000 square foot facility and created more than 60 new jobs increasing total employment in East Windsor to 120.  Hovione, with facilities in Ireland, Macao, Portugal and the United States, has over 50 years experience in the development and manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug product intermediates.  The expansion includes the addition of a new commercial spray dryer unit specifically designed to handle intermediate drug products.  The overall investment by Hovione, which more than doubles the drug substance production capacity at this site, is part of the company's strategy to support the needs of its current and future global customer base.

  6. East Windsor Will Participate in New Jersey Division of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Operation Medicine Cabinet on Saturday, October 27 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., a program offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs.  The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications.  This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. DEA is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications.  Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal.  The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.
  7. East Windsor Township Mayor and Council Encourage Citizens to Volunteer for Township Boards and Committees.  Citizens can apply to serve on the Clean Communities Advisory Committee, Commission on Aging, East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, Economic Development Committee, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Board, Planning Board, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.  Residents interested in volunteering can obtain an application form from the municipal clerk or can fill out this form (CLICK HERE) and return by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303, or by mail to Mayor Janice S. High School Students Invited to Serve as Student Members of East Windsor Township Boards and Commissions.  The boards and commissions included in the program are Commission on Aging, Clean Communities Committee, Economic Development Commission, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Committee and Recreation Commission, as well as the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.  High school students who wish to be considered should submit a letter indicating their area of interest and reasons or related background, by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303 or by mail to Mayor Janice S. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:   Volunteer Opportunity in Television Broadcasting Available.  If you are interested in broadcasting and would like hands-on training on a live, local television program, opportunities are available to work with the award winning "Spotlight East Windsor" program, one hour every other Wednesday night, at the East Windsor Municipal Building.  Volunteers will learn camera techniques, audio, lighting, video switching, videotape operation and much more.  Interested individuals should contact the Municipal Clerk’s office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 237 and provide your name and contact information.  For technical information, contact Dick Cunningham at (609) 443-1199.
  10. REMINDER:   Township Offices Will Be CLOSED and No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Monday, October 8 Due to the Columbus Day Holiday.  Residents of Area #1, who would normally have garbage collection on Monday, October 8, are to put their garbage out on the next regularly scheduled collection date which is Thursday, October 11.  Public works schedules can be viewed on the Township website at (CLICK HERE).
