  1. REMINDER: East Windsor Independence Day Celebration Will Be Held on Saturday, July 7 (rain date Saturday, July 14) at Etra Lake Park. Free entertainment begins at 6 pm with the Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a 6 piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound, followed at 7:30 pm by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies. The spectacular Fireworks Display will commence immediately following the musical presentations, at approximately 9:30 pm. Bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park. There also will be vendors present selling refreshments. This free event is made possible through the generous contributions of many area businesses.   2. REMINDER: East Windsor Township Will Hold Document Shredding/Recycling Day on Wednesday, July 11 from 4 pm to 8 pm, at the East Windsor Senior Center, located at 40 Lanning Boulevard. This Township event is sponsored by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Members of Council, in conjunction with the East Windsor Clean Communities Committee. Free document shredding will be available to East Windsor residents, with a limit of ten boxes per household. No commercial drop-offs are permitted. RISE will be on-site for drop-off of shoes, clothing, blankets, working appliances, usable furniture, and housewares. NO ELECTRONICS ACCEPTED at this event (i.e. NO televisions, computers, computer accessories and non-working appliances.) For further information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 215.
  3. ALERT: Windsor-Perrineville Road between Old York Road and Imlaystown Road Resurfacing Project by Mercer County Continues, and is expected to be completed by July 13, weather dependent. During construction, Windsor-Perrineville Road will be closed to all but local traffic Monday through Friday, 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Traffic is being detoured to Old York Road, South Main Street, Etra Road and Cedarville Road.
  4. ALERT: Milling and Paving of Probasco Road between Route 33 and Twin Rivers Drive North Is Now Anticipated to Begin on Wednesday, July 11, weather dependent. The project was delayed due to contractor equipment mechanical failures. The project, performed by low bidder Richard T. Barrett Paving Company of Trenton, New Jersey, is funded in part by a $260,000 New Jersey Department of Transportation grant awarded to East Windsor Township. Residents in work areas should take note of any posted parking restrictions. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 A.M. to 5 P.M.
  5. ALERT: Improvements to Maple Stream Road between Brooktree Road and Oak Creek Road and Heathwood Drive between Maple Stream Road and Dutch Neck Road Are Anticipated to Begin with Concrete Repairs to Curbs, Aprons and Handicapped Ramps on or about Wednesday, July 11, weather dependent. Thereafter, the roadway will be milled and paved, and the entire project will be completed by the end of August. The project is being performed by low bidder, S. Brothers, Inc. of South River, New Jersey. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 A.M. to 5 P.M.
  6. REMINDER: Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program, Sponsored by East Windsor Township and Funded by $7,000 Grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, Continues on Saturday, July 7. The 2018 Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection Program is designed to ensure motorists are properly securing their children in child seats as required by State law. Interested residents, at no cost, can have their child seats inspected for proper fit and installation in their vehicles and receive educational materials regarding current child restraint laws. The program continues on Saturday, July 7 from 4 P.M. to 9 P.M. at Disbrow Hill Park (during Independence Day celebration). Other sessions will take place as follows: Saturday, July 21 from 4 P.M. to 9 P.M. at Disbrow Hill Park (during "Family Night in Park" event); Tuesday, August 7 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at East Windsor P.A.L. complex, 30 Airport Road (during National Night Out), and Thursday, September 13, from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the East Windsor Police/Court Building, 80 One Mile Road.
  7. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Township Council Adopted a Resolution Proclaiming June 2018 "Mental Health Awareness Month". The Resolution notes that, "one in every four adults experiences mental health problems in any given year and one in 17 adults suffers from a serious mental health illness." The Mayor and Council, in the Resolution, call upon all residents to increase public understanding of mental illness and treatment, and reduce the the silence and stigma surrounding mental illness that has discouraged people from obtaining needed help to recover from the disease. The Resolution is part of a Mercer County-wide effort to educate the public on this important public health issue.

  8. "National Night Out" Set for Tuesday, August 7, from 6 pm to 9 pm at the East Windsor PAL Complex, 30 Airport Road. This annual fun educational Township event, sponsored by Mayor Janice Mironov and Council Members in conjunction with Chief of Police James Geary, features crime watch information, emergency services equipment, music, booths and displays by area groups and businesses with information and giveaways supporting the National Night Out theme.   9. East Windsor Holds "Family Night in the Park" on Saturday, July 21 at 7 pm at Etra Lake Park Featuring a Large Screen Showing of the Movie "Coco." Coco features young Miguel, who despite his family's generations-old ban on music, dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead. After meeting a charming trickster named Hector, they embark on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history. Prior to the start of the movie, there will be inflatable rides, games, and vendors. The rain date is July 22.   10. East Windsor Holds "Satisfaction" Rolling Stones Tribute Concert on Sunday, July 29 at 6 pm at Etra Lake Park. The "Satisfaction/The International Rolling Stones Show" is a tribute band in their 16th year with over 3,000 performances, whose performers showcase the most authentic cast and costuming of its kind. All time song favorites highlighting the show will include: "Start Me Up", "Just My Imagination", "Brown Sugar", "Honky Tonk Woman", "I Can't Get No (Satisfaction)", "Gimme Shelter", "Wild Horses", "Ruby Tuesday", and many more rocking hits. All of the free summer concert and family night series is made possible by the generous donations of many area businesses.
