  1. East Windsor Awards Contract to Hopewell Valley Engineering for Preliminary Design of Union Transportation Trail Extension, funded through a $135,000 grant from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission. The project is planned to be an approximately 3.5 mile-long trail extension, to run from the current terminus at the Mercer/Monmouth County line near the intersection of Old York Road and Sharon Road, through the southeastern portion of the Township, then crossing the NJ Turnpike in the area of Windsor Perrineville Road and ultimately connecting to Airport Road near Route 33. With this extension, the UTT trail system would run for over 12 miles to the Ocean County/Monmouth County line near Crosswicks Creek Park. This project furthers an existing regional recreational project linking Mercer County to Monmouth County, Burlington County and Ocean County to extend a popular bicycling and hiking trail, as well as creating a valuable interconnect within East Windsor enabling bicycling and walking across a significant land segment in the southeast quadrant of the Township.
  2. East Windsor Township Recognizes 40th Anniversary of Womanspace. Mayor Janice Mironov presented a Mayoral Proclamation and a check representing $17,000 collected from businesses and individuals for Womanspace on behalf of the East Windsor community, to Womanspace Executive Director Patricia Hart and Board of Directors Members. The Proclamation notes that, "Womanspace has and continues to serve as a brightly shining beacon of hope and opportunity for countless individuals and families" and "has helped over 67,778 women, 13,007 children and 4,639 men that have experienced the tragedy of interpersonal violence, educated 133,826 professionals and community members, and responded to over 271,401 crisis hotline telephone calls" during its 40 years of service.
