  1. REMINDER:   Ceremony for Anniversary of 9/11 Will Be Held on Monday, September 11 at 5:30 pm to remember and honor the anniversary of September 11.  The ceremony will take place at the existing 9/11 Memorial located on the grounds of the East Windsor Township Municipal Building, at 16 Lanning Boulevard.  Participants will include members of the fire companies, rescue squads, police department, school district, ministerium and scouts.  The public is encouraged to attend.
  2. REMINDER:   East Windsor Township Will Hold Final Child Passenger - Car Safety Seat Inspection Session, to Promote Child Passenger Safety, on Thursday, September 14 from 3 pm to 8 pm at the East Windsor Police/Court building at 80 One Mile Road.  These FREE Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspections are hosted by Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Members of Council, and the Police Department for Township residents.  Participants will have their child seats inspected to ensure proper installation and will receive educational materials on how to safely and properly restrain children passengers.
  3. East Windsor Township Is Holding a Knockout Opioid Abuse Town Hall on Monday, September 18, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard, East Windsor).  Guest speakers will include Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri, Assemblyman Daniel R. Benson, Barbara Sprechman, Prevention Coalition of Mercer County, and Tammy Leigh, Manager of Emergency Services, Robert Wood Johnson/Barnabas Health System.  Join Township officials and other residents to hear advocates and professionals on this topic, have your voice heard and be part of the solution to end opioid abuse in our community.
  4. Milling and Paving Roadway Work on Brooktree Road between Oak Creek Road and Amy Drive, Amy Drive, Lindenbrook Way and Maple Stream Road between Amy Drive and Route 130 South Is Completed.  Punch list items and restoration work are in process.  
  5. New Kohl's Store Is Opening in the East Windsor Village ("Target Center") on Princeton Hightstown Road, on Sunday, October 1 with a Grand Opening Ceremony on Saturday, October 7.  The company has been hiring for full- and part-time positions at the store.  Kohl’s has more than 1,100 stores in 49 states.  In addition to offering great national, and exclusive brands, all Kohl’s stores are equipped with a kiosk for customers to buy online at Kohls.com.  Kohl's will be joining other Center major retailers including Target, T.J. Maxx, Famous Footwear and Kay Jewelers.  The decision by a well-known successful national retailer as Kohl's to site a store in East Windsor underscores once again East Windsor's local vibrant economy and pro-active efforts to support and attract new business.


  6. East Windsor Is Seeking Nominations for the 2017 Township Business Awards Program.  The purpose of the program is to recognize local businesses that make special efforts to improve or contribute to the community.  The three categories of Township award recognition are: (1) Business Beautification - creating an attractive appearance, for example, through landscaping, flowers, and other enhancements to their structures and site; (2) Community Service - providing for community contributions and service, and (3) Community Enhancement - providing some manner of community enhancement, for example, through extraordinary job creation, an unusual or special product or opportunity or any community value added aspect related to their business.  Green and sustainable practices, for example, green products, energy conservation, reduction of waste and energy consumption are encouraged and will be given more weight.  Nomination forms are available at the Municipal Building and on-line at the Township website at (CLICK HERE). The deadline for nominations is September 15.
  7. ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:   Volunteer Opportunity in Television Broadcasting Available.  If you are interested in broadcasting and would like hands-on training on a live, local television program, opportunities are available to work with the award winning "Spotlight East Windsor" program, one hour every other Wednesday night, at the East Windsor Municipal Building.  Volunteers will learn camera techniques, audio, lighting, video switching, videotape operation and much more.  Interested individuals should contact the Municipal Clerk’s office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 237 and provide your name and contact information.  For technical information, contact Dick Cunningham at (609) 443-1199.
