  1. East Windsor Township 2017 New Year's Food Drive Continues through January 31. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members are asking area residents and businesses to drop off donated non-perishable food items at the East Windsor Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard) during business hours, the East Windsor Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) 24/7, or at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 (69 Twin Rivers Drive). The food drive will benefit the food pantries of RISE and St. Anthony's Church, area-based organizations that provide assistance to local individuals and families.
  2. Township Offices Will Be CLOSED Monday, January 16, due to Township holiday.
  3. No Township Curbside Garbage Collection Will Occur on Township Holiday Monday, January 16. Garbage Collection for Area #1 residents, normally on Monday, January 16, will be on the next scheduled collection date of Thursday, January 19. (CLICK HERE) for public works schedules.
  4. Lieutenant James A. Geary Sworn-In as New East Windsor Chief of Police by Mayor Janice S. Mironov. Chief Geary, most recently the Administrative Services Commander, joined the Township Police Department in July 1995 after graduating from the Somerset County Police Academy. During his career with the Township, Chief Geary has risen through the ranks, serving as a police officer, then sergeant and was promoted to lieutenant in 2012. Chief Geary is the recipient of many awards including the Educational Achievement Medal, Unit Citation Medal, several Awards of Merit, and numerous Letters of Recognition for distinguished service. He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Richard Stockton College and a master's degree in administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Chief Geary also recently completed the fourteen week West Point Command and Leadership Academy.

  5. Mercer County Surrogate East Windsor Satellite Office to Continue in 2017, in accordance with an arrangement between Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Mercer County Surrogate Diane Gerofsky. The Satellite Office is housed at the Township Senior Center and provides residents the opportunity to obtain probate services locally. The East Windsor Surrogate's Satellite Office is offered from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of each month, specifically for 2017: January 24, February 21, March 21, April 25, May 23, June 27, July 25, August 22, September 26, October 24, November 28, and December 26.   6. REMINDER: All Dog Licenses Are Required to be Renewed by January 31. All dogs seven months of age or older are required to be licensed. Rabies vaccines must be valid through October 31, 2017 in order to obtain a 2017 license. For information contact the Municipal Clerk's office (609) 443-4000, ext. 237.
  7. Annual Windsor-Hightstown Area Ministerium (WHAM) Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Will Be Held on Sunday, January 15 at 7 p.m., at Mount Olivet Baptist Church, at 21 Rev. William L. Powell Drive, Hightstown. The program will be followed by light refreshments.
