  1. REMINDERDeadline to Apply to Vote by Mail is Tuesday, November 1 by Mail and Monday, November 7 by 3 pm in Person at the Mercer County Clerk's Office.  Vote by mail application forms can be obtained online at www.njelections.org or from the Municipal Clerk's office (16 Lanning Boulevard).  Vote by Mail applications can be obtained and returned and a vote by mail ballot obtained from the Mercer County Clerk's Office located at 240 West State Street, 7th Floor, Trenton.  The Mercer County Clerk's Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  Extended and weekend hours are offered at the County Clerk's temporary satellite office located at 640 South Broad Street (4th floor) Trenton, on the following dates:  Sunday, October 30, 10 am to 3 pm, Wednesday, November 2, 8:30 am to 7 pm, Thursday, November 3, 8:30 am to 7 pm, Saturday, November 5, 9 am to 1 pm and Sunday, November 6, 10 am to 3 pm.  All mail ballots must be mailed or returned to the Mercer County Board of Elections, located also at 640 South Broad Street, Trenton, by Tuesday, November 8, 8 pm.  The Board of Elections is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, but will be open one-half hour after the extended county clerk satellite office hours and on Tuesday, November 8 until 8 pm, for the purpose of dropping off completed ballots.  For further information visit www.mercercounty.org or call (609) 989-6495. 
  2. REMINDER:  East Windsor Will Participate with New Jersey Division of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Operation Medicine Cabinet Tomorrow, Saturday, October 22 from 10 am to 2 pm.  East Windsor is partnering with the local DEA office in this special event to promote and focus on the importance of disposing of expired and unneeded medications in a safe secure and environmentally responsible non-hazardous manner.  The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building (80 One Mile Road) for the collection of these medications.  Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal.  In addition to this “Operation Medicine Cabinet” one day event, East Windsor provides residents with a year round 24/7 opportunity to dispose of medications in a permanent drop box, obtained by Mayor Mironov and Council Members from The American Medicine Chest Challenge, which is installed in the police/court building lobby.
  3. Mayor Janice S. Mironov Proclaims October "Domestic Violence Awareness Month" and Recognizes Womanspace and the Domestic Violence Victim Response Team, joined by Womanspace Executive Director Patricia Hart and Chief of Police Harry Marshall and Team members.  The Mayoral Proclamation reads, "The East Windsor Domestic Violence Victim Response Team and Womanspace have provided a coordinated community response that has served hundreds of local residents during its years of operation, and has improved many lives in our community by advocating the importance of victim safety as well as accountability for abusers.  The pro-active commitment by East Windsor Township through its Domestic Violence Victim Response Team and Womanspace visibly demonstrates to our residents and surrounding municipalities that we are united in combating domestic violence and that it is unacceptable to our entire community."  Womanspace is the lead non-profit organization in Mercer County that provides crisis intervention and support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  The mission of Womanspace is to provide a comprehensive array of services to individuals impacted by domestic violence and to improving the quality of life for women and their families.

  4. East Windsor Offers Second Free Flu Clinic on Wednesday, October 26 from 9 am to 3 pm at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for all residents 60 and older.  The vaccinations are by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment, call the Township Health Department at (609) 443-4000, ext. 222.  Anyone needing transportation, call the Township Senior Center at (609) 371-7192.
  5. East Windsor Will Hold Free Rabies Clinics for dog and cat owners on Saturday, November 5 from 1 pm to 3 pm at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 at 51 One Mile Road and on Saturday, November 12 from 1 pm to 3 pm at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 at 69 Twin Rivers Drive.  Owners will be required to show a certificate of previous rabies vaccination; otherwise vaccinations of one year duration only will be provided.  For safety, all animals must be properly restrained by leash or carried.  For more information, contact the Animal Control Officer at (609) 448-5678, ext. 229 or visit www.east-windsor.nj.us (click on "Police Department" then "Animal Control").
  6. Township Recreation Department Offers Trip to "Disney on Ice: Follow Your Heart" on Wednesday, December 28 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The bus will leave from the Municipal Building (16 Lanning Blvd.) parking lot at 9 am and showtime is 11 am.  The $45 fee includes admission ticket in Club Box 11 (with lounge and private bathroom), transportation and adult supervision (any child under 5 must accompanied by an adult).  Registration, which is on a first come first serve basis, can be done online (CLICK HERE).  For further information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 225 or email recreation@east-windsor.nj.us.
