  1. East Windsor Township Announces Launch of the Nixle Communications System, implemented by Mayor and Council, to enable immediate text messages to registered cell phones and email addresses, to alert residents and businesses about safety and health subjects of concern, such as severe weather conditions, traffic disruption alerts, road closures, flooding conditions, power outages and important public health notices, as well as other significant community updates and important announcements.  The Nixle communications tool will assist the Township in notifying large numbers of people in real time concerning conditions or issues affecting safety and travel issues.  Residents are encouraged to register for the notifications by texting "08520" to the number 888-777 from their cell phone.  Residents also can register online (CLICK HERE) to receive the notifications via email and/or mobile phone.  IMPORTANT NOTE:   Regardless of your zip code, you must register under the zip code 08520 to receive East Windsor related Nixle alerts.
  2. Sukhadia's Indian Grill Restaurant Opens in East Windsor Village on Princeton Hightstown Road, just west of Route 130.  Sukhadia’s features a casual dining area and serves traditional Indian foods and desserts, and includes a retail store that offers Indian sweets, snacks and gift packages.  Sukhadia Foods, a manufacturer and retailer of premium Indian sweets, snacks and cuisine, headquartered in South Plainfield, New Jersey, is a seven-generation family owned business with over thirty years of experience in the United States and seven other locations in New Jersey, Chicago and North Carolina.  Sukhadia’s joins Target, Kohl's, T.J. Maxx and Patel Brothers grocery store in the East Windsor Village shopping center.  Current hours of operation are Monday through Friday 10 AM to 9 PM, Saturday and Sunday 9 AM to 9 PM.

  3. East Windsor Township and the NJ League of Municipalities Offer Scholarship Opportunities to Junior and Senior High School Students.  Three $1,000 scholarships are being offered through the Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition.  This statewide scholarship competition centers on the theme "What My Municipal Government Does Best" and seeks to advance the virtues of elected and volunteer members of the community, while raising awareness of municipal government in general.  An appointed committee will select a semi-finalist and forward the semi-finalist's entry to the scholarship committee of the New Jersey League of Municipalities for their consideration.  The State League Scholarship Committee will select 15 finalists and 3 winners from the State.  A full application package can be obtained from the Municipal Clerk's office at the municipal building (16 Lanning Boulevard) or by calling (609) 443-4000, ext. 238.  All entries should be returned to the East Windsor Mayor's Office by Monday, March 11.
  4. East Windsor Township 2019 New Year's Food Drive Will Continue through January 31, 2019.  Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members are asking area residents and businesses to drop off donated non-perishable food items at the East Windsor Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard) during business hours, the East Windsor Police/Court Building (80 One Mile Road) 24/7, or at East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 (69 Twin Rivers Drive).  The food drive will benefit the food pantries of RISE and St. Anthony's Church, area-based organizations that provide assistance to local individuals and families.
  5. East Windsor Township Mayor and Council Encourage Citizens to Volunteer for Township Boards and Committees.  Citizens can apply to serve on the Clean Communities Advisory Committee, Commission on Aging, East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, Economic Development Committee, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Board, Planning Board, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.  Residents interested in volunteering can obtain an application form from the municipal clerk or can fill out this form (CLICK HERE) and return by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303, or by mail to Mayor Janice S.   6. REMINDER:   All Dog Licenses Are Required to be Renewed by January 31.  All dogs seven months of age or older are required to be licensed.  Rabies vaccines must be valid through November 1, 2019 in order to obtain a 2019 license.  For information, contact the Municipal Clerk's office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 237.
