1. East Windsor Township Remembers the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. We Remember and Honor the Memories of Township Residents and All Those Who Were Lost on that Tragic Day. We Remember and Honor All those First Responders and Heroes Who Stepped Forward to Help and Serve. We Rededicate Ourselves to Community Service and to Promote and Preserve Our Nation's Treasured Values and Institutions.

   

2. East Windsor Township Held 25th Anniversary Ceremony for 9-11 and Remembers with Special Love Township Residents Colleen Barkow, Lorraine Bay, Debbie Bellows, Anil Bharvaney, Neil Lai, Ruth Lapin as well as Joseph Pycior and All Others Lost on September 11, 2001. Participants in the Township 9-11 ceremony, which included local officials, fire company volunteers, police, clergy, students, veterans, scouts and local organizations, shared words of reflection, readings, musical presentations and prayers, to remember and honor the events, victims, first responders and heroes of that day.

   

   U.S. Air Force veteran Police Lieutenant Ryan Mattek and Chief Jay Laughlin, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company 1, laid the wreath at the East Windsor Township 9/11 memorial on the municipal building grounds during the Township community remembrance ceremony.

   East Windsor Fire Marshall Robert LeBrun rings the traditional fire bell to honor those lost on September 11 at the East Windsor Township 9/11 memorial on the municipal building grounds.

3. Mayor Mironov and the East Windsor Health Advisory Board Invite Residents to Participate in the Second Mayors Wellness Walk and Talk on Saturday, September 26, at 9 A.M. at Etra Lake Park (9 Disbrow Hill Road). Rain date is Saturday, October 3. The walk will be at Etra Lake Park Pathway, which is approximately one mile in length, and may be walked multiple times at the discretion of participants. The Mayors Wellness Walk was the kick-off activity after the Township joined the Mayors Wellness Campaign, an initiative sponsored by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute. The Wellness Walk tag line is, "Take a walk. Meet your neighbors. Feel better together." The goal of the Walk and Talk is to make health and wellness approachable for residents of all ages and abilities by encouraging regular movement, social interaction, and active participation in the East Windsor community.

   
4. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Members of Council Will Hold Recycling Day and Document Shredding Event on Saturday, September 19 from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files are available to East Windsor Residents Only, until the shredding truck is full. No commercial documents are accepted, and there is a limit of ten boxes per household. Plastic film recycling is available at the event, with accepted materials including, bread bags, grocery bags, air pillows, ziploc, bubble wrap, produce bags, dry cleaning bags, shipping envelopes and newspaper sleeves. Electronic recycling is available for computers, computer monitors, laptops and televisions. Also accepted for drop-off are fluorescent bulbs, cell phones and printer cartridges. RISE will be on site to collect usable furniture, clothing, blankets and working household appliances and electronics. For further information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 415.
   
   

5. East Windsor Offers Free Flu Clinics on Thursday, October 1 from 9:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. and on Thursday, October 22 from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Township Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard), for East Windsor and Hightstown residents 60 years and older. The vaccinations are by appointment only, by calling the Township Health Department at (609) 443-4000, ext. 422.
