April 10, 2026 - REMINDER: Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Members of Council Will Hold Recycling Day and Document Shredding Event TOMORROW Saturday, April 11 from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files are available to East Windsor Residents Only, until the shredding truck is full. No commercial documents, and there is a limit of ten boxes per household. Plastic film recycling is available at the event, with accepted materials including, bread bags, grocery bags, air pillows, ziploc, bubble wrap, produce bags, dry cleaning bags, shipping envelopes and newspaper sleeves. Electronic recycling is available for computers, computer monitors, laptops and televisions. Also accepted for drop-off are fluorescent bulbs, cell phones and printer cartridges. - Residents Encouraged to Recycle Plastic Film During April 11 Recycling Day Event and Throughout the Year, to Participate in "Trex Recycling Challenge." Trex sponsors an annual challenge program rewarding groups with a free bench who collect more than 1000 pounds of plastics this year. Plastic film materials accepted include bread bags, grocery bags, air pillows, ziploc, bubble wrap, produce bags, dry cleaning bags, shipping envelopes and newspaper sleeves. Plastic film can be dropped off during the April 11 recycling event or at the Public Works facility (Ward Street at intersection of Etra Road), Monday to Friday, 7 A.M. to 3 P.M.  - REMINDER: East Windsor Sponsors Reusable Bag Design Contest for High School Students. Participants must incorporate the Township logo, include creative artwork featuring environmental themes and messaging, and list the current Mayor and Council members. The first-place winner will have their design printed on the bags used for East Windsor National Night Out, receive a gift card, and be recognized at a Township meeting. All interested participants should submit entries with name, grade level, and phone number by Monday, April 13 to municipal_clerk@east-windsor.nj.us or drop them off at the Municipal Building (16 Lanning Boulevard). - Stream Cleanup Co-Sponsored by The Watershed Institute and East Windsor Township on Saturday, April 18, from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Etra Lake Park, Rain or Shine. Pre-registration is preferred (CLICK HERE). Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and long sleeves, and bring work gloves. Trash bags will be provided. Adults must accompany minors.  - East Windsor Will Participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet Saturday, April 25, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., offering residents the opportunity to dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescription medications in an environmentally responsible manner and reducing possible access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs. The Township has a drop box in the lobby of the police/court building at 80 One Mile Road for the collection of these various medications. This special one-day collaborative event with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is intended to focus community attention on the importance and opportunity for secure and responsible disposal of medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal. The Township maintains a year-round 24/7 accessible permanent medicine drop box in the lobby of the police/court building.
- East Windsor Recreation Department Summer Camp Registration Is Open. Recreation day camps will be offered for students entering grades Kindergarten through 9. The Explorer camp is designed for campers entering grades Kindergarten and 1, the Adventure camp is designed for campers entering grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the 2026 Travel camps are offered for campers entering grades 5 through 9. - East Windsor Police Athletic League Is Accepting Registrations for Travel Soccer Tryouts. Tryouts will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 12 P.M. to 6 P.M. on the turf field at the East Windsor Regional School District Hightstown High School, on Leshin Lane.  - PUBLIC NOTICE: East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority (EWMUA) Is Conducting Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing to remove sediment from pipes, monitor water flows and pressures, and provide visual inspection of the hydrants during overnight hours on the following dates. This schedule is subject to change due to conflicting work that must be done by EWMUA personnel. According to the EWMUA, customers may notice a drop in water pressure or may experience discolored water. At no time will the water quality be compromised, and the water is safe to use.
