March 27, 2026 - Annual East Windsor Egg Hunt Is Scheduled for TOMORROW, Saturday, March 28 at 10:30 A.M., at Etra Lake Park (rain date Sunday, March 29 at 10:30 A.M.). The egg hunt is for children in pre-school through Grade 5. This annual event features lots of candy, prizes, and fun! There is no fee or registration, but each child should bring a basket or bag. - Mayor Janice S. Mironov Proclaimed March Women's History Month, joined by several area elected officials -- Senator Linda Greenstein, Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy, Assemblywoman Mitchelle Drulis, Mercer County Surrogate Diane Gerofsky, Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami-Covello, Hopewell Township Committeewoman Courtney Peters-Manning. Mayor Mironov acknowledged the important role and achievements of these elected women officials and thanked them for their service and for the model they set for other women interested in government. Each of the officials spoke about their experiences and thanked those who encouraged and mentored them, and the importance of annually recognizing Women's History Month and continuing to cultivate and encourage other women as future leaders. The Proclamation recognizes and celebrates "the accomplishments and substantial contributions of women over history to our civic, political and cultural life, and the many women of extraordinary leadership and commitment, whose vision, achievements and unwavering determination have strengthened our society and paved the way for progress, to the betterment of the lives of the citizens of East Windsor Township and the State of New Jersey".

Governor Mikie Sherrill hosted a celebration of Women's History Month at historic Drumthwacket in Princeton, the official residence of the NJ Governor, built in 1835 and expanded in 1893 and 1900 -- attended by many local, county and state elected officials. Mironov and Members of Council Will Hold Recycling Day and Document Shredding Event on Saturday, April 11 from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files are available to East Windsor Residents Only, until the shredding truck is full. No commercial documents, and there is a limit of ten boxes per household. Plastic film recycling is available at the event, with accepted materials including, bread bags, grocery bags, air pillows, ziploc, bubble wrap, produce bags, dry cleaning bags, shipping envelopes and newspaper sleeves. Electronic recycling is available for computers, computer monitors, laptops and televisions. Also accepted for drop-off are fluorescent bulbs, cell phones and printer cartridges. The Township is sponsoring this pro-active safety initiative to promote improved gun safety, as these gun locks if properly used can help keep guns out of the hands of children and others in a distressed state of mind, so as to prevent accidental and unintended deaths and injuries. The gun locks are available to East Windsor Township, at no cost, through Project Child Safe, a national firearms safety program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Free gun safety locks can be obtained at the Township police/court building (80 One Mile Road) by contacting Detective Timothy Purpuri at (609) 448-5678, ext. 232.
- Township Accepting Applications from Residents for Participation in the 2026 East Windsor Community Garden. The Community Garden, which is located on the Disbrow Hill Road Park open space property adjacent to the Disbrow Hill playing fields and across from Etra Lake Park, provides residents with the opportunity to rent a plot of land to plant their own fruits and vegetables. Applications for 2026 garden plots will be prioritized to residents who rented plots in 2025, and other resident applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. - Stream Cleanup Co-Sponsored by The Watershed Institute and East Windsor Township on Saturday, April 18, from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Etra Lake Park, Rain or Shine. Pre-registration is preferred (CLICK HERE). Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and long sleeves, and bring work gloves. Trash bags will be provided. Adults must accompany minors.
