  1. Annual East Windsor Egg Hunt Is Scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at 10:30 A.M., at Etra Lake Park (rain date Sunday, March 29 at 10:30 A.M.). The egg hunt is for children in pre-school through Grade 5. This annual event features lots of candy, prizes, and fun! There is no fee or registration, but each child should bring a basket or bag.   2. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Members of Council Will Hold Recycling Day and Document Shredding Event on Saturday, April 11 from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Rain or Shine, at the East Windsor Senior Center (40 Lanning Boulevard). Free paper shredding services to securely dispose of unneeded personal documents and confidential files are available to East Windsor Residents Only, until the shredding truck is full. No commercial documents, and there is a limit of ten boxes per household. Plastic film recycling is available at the event, with accepted materials including, bread bags, grocery bags, air pillows, ziploc, bubble wrap, produce bags, dry cleaning bags, shipping envelopes and newspaper sleeves. Electronic recycling is available for computers, computer monitors, laptops and televisions. Also accepted for drop-off are fluorescent bulbs, cell phones and printer cartridges. RISE will be on site to collect usable furniture, clothing, blankets and working household appliances and electronics. For further information, call (609) 443-4000, ext. 415.

  3. Township Accepting Applications from Residents for Participation in the 2026 East Windsor Community Garden. The Community Garden, which is located on the Disbrow Hill Road Park open space property adjacent to the Disbrow Hill playing fields and across from Etra Lake Park, provides residents with the opportunity to rent a plot of land to plant their own fruits and vegetables. Applications for 2026 garden plots will be prioritized to residents who rented plots in 2025, and other resident applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.   4. Mercer County Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Will Be Held on Saturday, March 21, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., rain or shine, at the John T. Dempster Fire School, located at 350 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township. No registration is required, just proof of Mercer County residency. Residents can dispose of aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides, herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil-based paints, stains and varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, and fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs. Used electronic equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions, and microwaves will be accepted.   5. Free Gun Safety Locks Are Available to East Windsor Residents During March under Mayor and Council Gun Safety Program. The Township is sponsoring this pro-active safety initiative to promote improved gun safety, as these gun locks if properly used can help keep guns out of the hands of children and others in a distressed state of mind, so as to prevent accidental and unintended deaths and injuries. The gun locks are available to East Windsor Township, at no cost, through Project Child Safe, a national firearms safety program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Free gun safety locks can be obtained at the Township police/court building (80 One Mile Road) by contacting Detective Timothy Purpuri at (609) 448-5678, ext. 232.
  6. East Windsor Police Athletic League Is Accepting Registrations for Travel Soccer Tryouts. Tryouts will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 12 P.M. to 6 P.M. on the turf field at the East Windsor Regional School District Hightstown High School, on Leshin Lane.   7. The Mercer County Board of Elections Is Seeking Election Board Workers for the June Primary Election and the November General Election. Mercer County residents who apply and complete a required training session can earn up to $300 during a Full Day shift (Half Day shifts are also available for $150).
