February 27, 2026 - Free Gun Safety Locks Are Available to East Windsor Residents During March under Mayor and Council Gun Safety Program. The Township is sponsoring this pro-active safety initiative to promote improved gun safety, as these gun locks if properly used can help keep guns out of the hands of children and others in a distressed state of mind, so as to prevent accidental and unintended deaths and injuries. The gun locks are available to East Windsor at no cost through Project Child Safe, a national firearms safety program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Free gun safety locks can be obtained at the Township police/court building (80 One Mile Road) by contacting Detective Timothy Purpuri at (609) 448-5678, ext. 232.
- East Windsor Is Soliciting Nominations for the Sylvia Weiss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer. The annual award is to recognize a senior citizen who has exhibited outstanding service through volunteerism to the community by way of the schools, religious institutions, service organizations or directly to the public. Nominees must be at least 60 years of age and residents of East Windsor. - East Windsor Township and the NJ League of Municipalities Offer Scholarship Opportunities to Junior and Senior High School Students. Three $1,000 scholarships are being offered through the Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition. This statewide scholarship competition centers on the question “What I Like About My Hometown,” East Windsor Township, and seeks to advance the virtues of elected and volunteer members of the municipal government, while raising awareness of municipal government in general. Mayor Mironov will appoint a committee which will select a semi-finalist from East Windsor Township and forward the semi-finalist’s entry to the Scholarship Committee of the New Jersey State League of Municipalities (NJSLOM) for their consideration. The NJSLOM Scholarship Committee will select 15 finalists and 3 winners from the State of New Jersey. Entries should be submitted to the Mayor’s Office by Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
- Mayor Janice S. Mironov Proclaimed February as Black History Month to recognize and celebrate “the many valuable contributions of Black Americans to the history and culture of our Nation, our State and our Township, which enrich us all and strengthen our community”. Residents are encouraged to engage in learning and celebration, fostering a deeper understanding of Black history and its lasting impact on our society.
