February 20, 2026 - East Windsor Township Was Awarded $2 Million Federal Grant toward Construction of "Probasco Road Freight Bypass." Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members actively advocated for the project funding, which was successfully secured with the support of Congressman Herb Conway Jr. The Probasco Road Freight Bypass would provide for a direct ramp connection to NJ Route 133 from Wyckoff Mills Road, thereby enabling truck traffic to travel to the New Jersey Turnpike and other major roadway networks without having to utilize local area roadways. This alternative connection would help enhance safety, facilitate area travel and support economic development in East Windsor.
- East Windsor Township Was Awarded $300,000 Federal Grant for Upgraded 9-1-1 Network Technology. Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Council Members advocated for the 9-1-1 upgraded technology funding, which was successfully secured with the support of U.S. Senator Cory Booker and U.S. Senator Andy Kim. The $300,000 federal grant funding award will be used to replace existing 9-1-1 terminals with Next Generation-compatible equipment and technology, enhancing the Township emergency response capability and keeping the Township current with State requirements and County updates. The new system, which is faster and more resilient, will improve the Township dispatch center’s ability to help manage call overload and effectively respond to natural disasters.
- East Windsor Is Soliciting Nominations for the Sylvia Weiss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer. The annual award is to recognize a senior citizen who has exhibited outstanding service through volunteerism to the community by way of the schools, religious institutions, service organizations or directly to the public. Nominees must be at least 60 years of age and residents of East Windsor. - East Windsor Township and the NJ League of Municipalities Offer Scholarship Opportunities to Junior and Senior High School Students. Three $1,000 scholarships are being offered through the Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition. This statewide scholarship competition centers on the theme "What I Like About My Hometown" and seeks to advance the virtues of elected and volunteer members of the community, while raising awareness of municipal government in general. East Windsor will forward applications to The State League Scholarship Committee who will then select 15 finalists and 3 winners statewide. All entries must be returned to the Mayor's Office by Wednesday, March 11.
