December 5, 2025 - East Windsor Township Has Approved a Shared Services Agreement with Hopewell Township for Health Officer Services. While East Windsor Township maintains its own Health and Housing Department, the shared service agreement appoints Hopewell Township Health Officer Gary Dorsi to also serve East Windsor, fulfilling the requirement for a licensed health officer to oversee public health operations. This agreement provides a collaborative and more cost-effective means for both municipalities to provide health services, saving taxpayer money and making available public health expertise for East Windsor residents.
- East Windsor Awarded $7,000 "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" 2025 Year-End Holiday Enforcement Grant. The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety grant is to underwrite salaries of police officers for added enforcement activities directed at the detection and apprehension of intoxicated drivers. The program, which runs from December 5 through January 1, is a statewide campaign aimed at improving public safety by encouraging responsible driving during the 2025 year-end holiday season.
- East Windsor Recreation Department Holiday Home Decorating Competition Is Open for Township Residents. All East Windsor residents are welcome to enter their home into the competition, simply register your address and decorate your home for the Holiday season. Decorations will be judged on creativity, not by the size or quantity of lights or displays. Displays will be reviewed from 5 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on weeknights between Monday, December 8 and Wednesday, December 17 by Recreation Commission members. There will be winners in both home and townhome/apartment categories. Prizes donated by local businesses will be provided to the winners as well as recognition in a future edition of the E-News. - East Windsor Recreation Adult Pickup Basketball Registration Is Open. Adult Basketball is a non-competitive program offering residents the opportunity to stay active all winter and spring long without a commitment to a team. Limited spots are available to ensure fair playing time for all participants. The program takes place at Walter C. Black School, 371 Stockton Street, every Wednesday night 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. - East Windsor Township Mayor and Council Encourage Citizens to Volunteer for Township Boards and Committees. Citizens can apply to serve on the Clean Communities Advisory Committee, Commission on Aging, East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority, Economic Development Committee, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Board, Planning Board, Recreation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse. - High School Students Invited to Serve as Student Members of East Windsor Township Boards and Commissions. The boards and commissions included in the program are Commission on Aging, Clean Communities Committee, Economic Development Commission, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Committee and Recreation Commission, as well as the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse. High school students who wish to be considered should submit a letter indicating their area of interest and reasons or related background, by email to clerk@east-windsor.nj.us, by fax to (609) 443-8303 or by mail to Mayor Janice S. - Register to Receive E-News Updates and Urge Other Residents to Register for E-News. E-News is used for alert communications in significant weather and service impacted situations, as well as generally weekly to provide information on new businesses and stores, roadway projects, grants, special events and other subjects of public interest. - Register to Receive Nixle Communications System Alerts, implemented by Mayor and Council, to enable real time text messages to residents and businesses about safety and health subjects, as severe weather conditions, traffic disruptions, road closures, flooding, power outages and significant community updates. Residents are encouraged to register for the notifications by texting "08520" to the number 888-777 from their cell phone. Residents also can register online (CLICK HERE) to receive the notifications via email and/or mobile phone. IMPORTANT NOTE: Regardless of your zip code, you must use 08520 to receive East Windsor related Nixle alerts.
- Mercer County Free Food Finder Directory available to help those dealing with food insecurity. The Free Food Finder is maintained by the Trenton Health Team as part of an effort to improve health equity in our region. The directory lists meal sites, food pantries, and meal distribution sites serving children, families, seniors and adults. The information in this directory is updated regularly, but all food resources, locations, and times are subject to change. Calling sites ahead of time to confirm before visiting is recommended.
