'GREEN' RECYCLING
Mayor Mironov announced, “we are
excited to offer a new on-going drop-off service locally which enables
citizens to dispose of used and old computer equipment and televisions in a ‘green’
manner at no cost to East Windsor Township, through an alliance between
Goodwill Industries and Dell. The ‘Reconnect’ partnership offers
an easy, convenient and responsible way to recycle used televisions, computers and
equipment, any brand and any condition, while supporting the good works
of Goodwill Industries, putting people to work.” The types of equipment
accepted for drop-off are any television, desktop or laptop computers, monitors,
printers, scanners, hard drives (external or internal), keyboards, mice,
speakers, cords and cables, ink and toner cartridges and software.
Note: radios and other electronic items are not eligible.
Individuals are responsible for
removing data from hard drives and other storage media before donating
them. Goodwill will accept and sort the donated computer equipment,
and Dell's product recovery partner will recycle and remarket the
recycled materials, such as plastics, glass and metals. All proceeds
support Goodwill’s non-profit job-training and employment programs.
Goodwill will provide charitable donation receipts. Residents can drop
off their computer equipment Monday
through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., excluding holidays, at the
Township public works facility located at the corner of Ward Street and Etra Road.
